The ATX TV Festival has recently announced its plans to hold a highly anticipated reunion for the cast and creatives of the hit show Suits.
The event is scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas, from May 30th to June 2nd next year.
However, one notable absence from the guest list is Meghan Markle.
Meghan Markle may not know why Suits became such a sensation once all nine seasons were added to Netflix, but it undeniably did.
Now, as the cast prepares to reunite, Meghan finds herself excluded from the event.
On Monday, the ATX TV Festival revealed that their 2024 lineup would feature a retrospective panel with the show’s creatives and cast, including creator Aaron Korsh, as well as stars Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty, and Julia Hill.
Upon learning of her omission, Meghan reached out to her agency, WME, in an attempt to secure a spot at the reunion.
She expressed her desire for an in-person appearance, particularly since her husband had recently been in the Austin area.
However, her agency informed her that the only option available was to make a cameo appearance via Zoom.
One can’t help but wonder if Meghan will appear in a highly controlled manner, like a special guest who briefly emerges, answers a few scripted questions, and then disappears.
In addition to the Suits reunion, the ATX TV Festival has other exciting programming lined up.
This includes a retrospective panel for the show Halt and Catch Fire, featuring creators Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C Rogers, executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, and the talented actor Scoot McNary.
There will also be panels with showrunner Graham Yost of CeeLo and executive producer Jessica Rhodes of Station Eleven.
As the festival draws nearer, more programming announcements are expected to be made.
Confirmed panelists already include showrunner David Hudgens of FBI Most Wanted, Graham Yost of CeeLo, and Jessica Rhodes of Black Mirror.
The gathering of Suits creators and cast members will mark the five-year anniversary since the series finale.
Creator Aaron Korsh, along with cast members Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty, and Julia Hill, have been confirmed, with additional participants yet to be revealed.
The reason behind Meghan’s exclusion from the reunion lies in her role as a supporting actor.
It is speculated that she prefers not to share the spotlight and microphone, something she may find challenging.
With other actors from Suits involved, Meghan would not be the sole focus of attention.
Opinions on Meghan’s absence from the reunion vary among fans.
One Suits enthusiast shared a humorous anecdote, stating, “I had a little laugh this weekend while watching Peacock.
An ad came on for programs soon to be available on the service, including Suits.
The ad seemed to showcase everyone who appeared on the show except Meghan.
She would never stoop so low as to appear at a convention unless she’s being paid a substantial amount of money.”
Another individual expressed the belief that Suits lacks the necessary timelessness and universal adoration to generate significant interest in a reunion.
