Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, along with their cousins, joined the King and Queen Consort for the Royal Family’s traditional Christmas Day walk back to Sandringham.
The sisters made a statement of solidarity with Prince William and the rest of the Royal Family through their choice of outfits, according to a fashion expert.
Following the Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Beatrice and Eugenie were accompanied by their husbands Edardo Mappellimozzi and Jack Brooksbank.
They walked just a few steps behind an awkward Prince Andrew and a beaming Sarah Ferguson.
While Kate, the Princess of Wales, stood out in a bright blue winter coat and matching hat, Beatrice and Eugenie opted for more understated navy blues and blacks.
Fashion expert Jennifer von Walderdorff suggested that the princesses intentionally avoided stealing the spotlight from senior family members.
Instead, they wanted to present a united front with Prince Charles and their other cousins.
Speaking to GB News, von Walderdorff said, “Beatrice and Eugenie showed a message of solidarity on Christmas.
It is clear they have maintained good relations with their cousins and see no reason to jeopardize that.
Therefore, the sisters played it neutral this year.”
The Royal Family’s 2023 was overshadowed by the ongoing feud between its top members and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The year began with the publication of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, and ended with the release of Omid Scobie’s bombshell book, Endgame.
However, Beatrice and Eugenie have managed to maintain a positive relationship with both William and Harry, largely avoiding the impact of the conflict.
In fact, Beatrice was promoted to the prestigious rank of Counsellor of State last year, allowing her to represent the King on official duties in his absence or in the event of illness.
Eugenie is also among the few members of the Royal Family to have visited Harry and Meghan in California since their withdrawal from official duties almost four years ago.
In 2022, she and her husband Jack Brooksbank traveled to Montecito with their eldest son August, and the Princess was even spotted enjoying the Super Bowl with her older cousin in Los Angeles.
The presence of Beatrice and Eugenie alongside Prince William on the Christmas outing sends a strong message of unity within the Royal Family.
Despite the ongoing tensions, the princesses have chosen to stand by their cousins and maintain positive relations.
