Legendary comedian and actor Chevy Chase, known for his roles in Saturday Night Live and National Lampoon’s Vacation series, has joined Sylvester Stallone in criticizing Meghan Markle.

The former actress and wife of Prince Harry had previously insulted Stallone’s movies as childish and lacking substance.

Chase, who is 79 years old, attended the first-ever Rocky Day event at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

The event celebrated the 47th anniversary of the release of the original Rocky movie in 1976, which propelled Stallone to global stardom with three Oscars.

Chase, a longtime friend and fan of Stallone, took the opportunity to express his admiration for Stallone’s brilliant and timeless movies and also took a swipe at Markle.

In front of a crowd of fans and reporters, Chase called Markle a snob who believes she is superior to everyone else.

He referred to Markle’s comments in a 2018 interview with Vanity Fair, where she criticized Chase’s movies, particularly the Vacation and Caddyshack series, dismissing them as crude, sexist, and outdated.

“I don’t like those kinds of movies.

They’re crude and sexist and outdated.

They don’t reflect the reality of the world or the diversity of people.

They’re just fantasies of white men who want to be funny and have fun.

They’re not my cup of tea,” Markle had stated at the time.

Markle’s remarks triggered a backlash from Chase’s fans and fellow actors who defended his movies as classics and sources of inspiration.

Chase himself responded to Markle’s comments on Twitter, labeling her as clueless and arrogant.

He accused her of not appreciating the art and craft of comedy and failing to grasp the impact and influence of movies like Vacation and Caddyshack on millions of people worldwide.

“She’s a spoiled brat who thinks she knows better than everyone else,” Chase tweeted in 2018.

Chase’s recent criticism of Markle on Rocky Day has reignited the feud between the two celebrities, despite never having met in person.

Markle, currently residing in California with Prince Harry and their children, has yet to respond to Chase’s comments.

However, sources close to Markle have revealed that she remains unaffected and unconcerned by Chase’s remarks.

They stated that she has more important matters to focus on, such as her family, charity work, and ongoing legal battles.

The sources also suggested that Markle believes Chase is merely seeking attention and publicity by attacking her.
