The royal family has long held a tradition of gathering for Christmas celebrations, and this year is no exception.
King Charles will be hosting an intimate party at Buckingham Palace, with a few changes from the usual festivities during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
One of the highlights of the event is the presence of Prince William and Princess of Wales Catherine, who are regulars at the holiday gathering.
The Princess of Wales, known for her impeccable style and poise, exuded grace and sophistication, captivating the attendees with her radiant presence.
Although we may not get a full-length shot of her outfit due to the private nature of the gathering, photos of Catherine in the car suggest that she is wearing a stunning pink ensemble.
With her hair down and accessorized with small, sparkly drop earrings, she adds an extra touch of glamour to the festivities.
The choice of a pink gown further emphasizes Catherine’s innate sense of fashion.
The soft hue harmonizes with the grandeur of the occasion, creating a vision of timeless beauty.
Joining the couple in the backseat are their three beautiful royal children—George, Charlotte, and Louis—accompanied by Nanny Maria.
It seems that Catherine has a penchant for red and pink tones when attending this luncheon, as she and her daughter Charlotte once matched in maroon.
In previous years, she opted for a chic and affordable holiday outfit, donning a black Zara cape paired with a faux fur collar.
While the monarch traveled down to Windsor by car, he looked particularly smart in a navy blue suit paired with a pale blue tie.
Queen Concert Camilla followed shortly afterwards, dressed in a quilted jacket and a midnight blue blouse.
Other family members seen driving onto the castle grounds included Charles’ siblings Princess Anne with her husband Sir Tim Lawrence, and Prince Edward with his wife Sophie and their daughter Lady Louise.
Zara, Princess Anne’s daughter, arrived with her husband Mike Tindall, who took the wheel as their children were spotted in the backseat of the vehicle.
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, along with the Duke of Kent, were also in attendance.
In addition to the luncheon, Princess Catherine also held her annual Christmas Carol Concert at Westminster Abbey, where Queen Elizabeth was fondly remembered.
The concert will be broadcast via ITV on Christmas Eve, allowing viewers to partake in the festive event.
For the holiday season, the family will be surrounded by reminders of the history-making monarch at her beloved country estate in Norfolk.
Sandringham holds a special place in King Charles’ heart, as royal biographer Ingrid Seward explains, “Christmas within any family is always about tradition.
He will keep it the same as it ever was.”
Despite leaving to spend time with her own children and grandchildren in previous years, Queen Camilla will be a real presence in hosting the festivities.
As Seward adds, “She can’t have him hosting his first Christmas on his own.”
According to royal tradition, the family enjoyed a traditional turkey and trimmings lunch.
In the past, the turkey was bred at Sandringham, and the family would engage in the fun of Christmas crackers and don party hats while seated at round tables of ten.
Former royal chef Darren McGrady revealed that the family prefers a straightforward meal, with turkey being the main star.
“They’re actually boring when it comes to festivities,” he said.
“They didn’t do hams or anything, just traditional turkeys.”
The turkey is served with mashed and roast potatoes, chestnut or sage and onion stuffing, cranberry sauce, and bread sauce.
Vegetables include Brussels sprouts, carrots, and roast parsnips.
