There have been numerous attempts to draw parallels between Diana, Princess of Wales, and Meghan Markle ever since her relationship with Prince Harry was made public.
Some authors and experts have suggested that Harry relies on Meghan emotionally, while others have questioned whether he sees his wife as a replacement for his late mother.
Investigative journalist Tom Bauer’s book, “Revenge, Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors,” shed light on several shocking claims about the couple.
One particularly intriguing story revolved around Prince Harry’s hope that Diana’s two sisters and best friend would recognize the similarities he saw between Meghan and his mother.
Unfortunately, his expectations were not met.
In his book, Bauer revealed that following an article in Vanity Fair that heightened the Cambridges’ suspicions of Meghan, the actress found herself with even less support from her neighbor in Kensington Palace.
By that point, Harry had introduced Meghan to Diana’s two sisters, Jane and Sarah, as well as her best friend, Julia Samuel.
Harry believed that Diana’s family and friends would see a resemblance between his fiancée and his vulnerable mother, as they both faced similar challenges.
However, to his disappointment, nobody agreed with him.
They did not see any commonalities between his girlfriend and his late mother, and furthermore, they believed Meghan would not fit well into the royal family.
Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, also expressed his unease regarding the situation at William’s request.
As someone who had been married three times, Spencer cautioned his nephew to reconsider rushing into marriage.
This advice provoked a bitter reaction from Harry, who later reflected on the difficulties of integrating Meghan into the family.
One recurring concern for Harry was the issue of finances if they were to marry.
Although Harry received an annual allowance of approximately £1.5 million from Charles, Meghan was advised to continue acting to supplement their income.
However, Meghan knew from her agent, Nick Collins, that her acting prospects were limited.
Omid Scobie, her official biographer, accurately summarized her exit from Hollywood, stating that she desired a more meaningful career and felt she could do more with her platform.
Despite being tantalizingly close to securing her future, nothing was official at that point, leaving her frustrated.
