Former soccer star David Beckham has shed light on the unfortunate circumstances that led to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle losing their luxurious $11 million mansion in Malibu.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Beckham expressed shock and sadness upon learning that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had to give up their dream home after failing to meet mortgage payments for several months.
According to Beckham, the couple had been living beyond their means, unaware of the hefty taxes and maintenance costs associated with their extravagant lifestyle.
The mansion boasted an impressive nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a pool, a tennis court, a movie theater, a spa, and even a chicken coop.
Harry and Meghan seemingly believed they could afford such opulence with their lucrative deals from Netflix and Spotify.
However, they failed to grasp the financial obligations that came with their lavish abode.
Despite Beckham’s attempts to caution them about their precarious financial situation, the couple disregarded his advice and continued splurging on designer clothes, jewelry, cars, and private jets.
Additionally, they donated large sums to their own charity, Archul, which, while admirable, proved imprudent in the face of mounting debts.
Beckham expressed particular disappointment in Meghan, whom he accused of being a gold digger and manipulator.
He claimed that she had persuaded Harry to abandon his royal duties and relocate to America, promising him a better life.
However, according to Beckham, her true motives centered around fame and fortune.
Once the going got tough, Meghan allegedly abandoned Harry, leaving him burdened with debts and regrets.
She even took custody of their two children, Archie and Lilibet, as well as their pets and the crown jewels Harry inherited from his late mother, Princess Diana.
Beckham revealed that Meghan intended to sell the jewels, deeming them outdated.
Harry, in Beckham’s eyes, is a broken man who has lost everything – his family, friends, home, wife, and children.
Struggling with loneliness and depression, he finds himself at a loss regarding his future.
Despite attempts to secure employment, Hollywood, the media, and the public have all rejected him, rendering him an outcast.
Beckham expressed hope that Harry would eventually recover from this ordeal and reconcile with his brother, Prince William, and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
According to Beckham, they still hold affection for Harry and long for his return to England.
He emphasized that Harry belongs with his family, asserting that he is a prince, not a pauper.
While Beckham remains willing to support Harry as a friend, he doubts whether Harry will ever reach out due to his pride and shame over his perceived betrayal.
Nevertheless, Beckham maintains that he only spoke out of concern for Harry’s well-being.
His ultimate desire is to see Harry regain happiness and success, returning to the person Beckham once knew and cherished.
