These black-and-white pictures, taken by Chris Jackson for the Royal Foundation, were recently shared on Kensington Palace’s social media accounts.

Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize in October last year with the aim of instilling hope in people regarding the climate crisis.

The Duke of Cambridge intends to recognize and reward organizations, countries, or individuals who find solutions to five of the most pressing environmental issues.

This initiative will span a decade, with five winners receiving £1 million each year until 2030.

The participants of the first Earthshot Prize ceremony at Alexandra Palace were mindful of the event’s carbon footprint.

No guests were required to travel to London exclusively for the award ceremony, and attendees were encouraged not to purchase new clothes specifically for the occasion.
