Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, faced a gusty challenge as she arrived in Jamaica during her royal tour of the Caribbean with Prince William.
The couple landed on Tuesday and were met with blustery conditions as they posed for photographs with the welcoming delegation.
Despite the strong breeze, the Duchess managed to keep her composure and avoided any wardrobe malfunctions.
Sporting a vibrant yellow dress, Kate held onto her stylish outfit tightly as the wind whipped up around her.
Standing alongside dignitaries, she skillfully maintained control over her attire.
The Duchess once again showcased her fashion prowess, wearing a custom Ruxanda dress in the colors of the Jamaican flag.
The bespoke piece, featuring a wrap top and billowing skirt, seemed to draw inspiration from a designer label’s marigold Brigitte Midi dress worth £1,095.
Kate’s version had short sleeves, but a sleeveless option is also available.
To complete her elegant look, the mother of three paired the statement dress with Akwesasre white heels, adorned with gold striped cutouts.
She opted for a ponytail hairstyle and added a touch of glamour with dazzling golden earrings and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.
Earlier in the day, as the couple departed Belize for Jamaica, Kate wore a vintage red Yves Saint Laurent jacket she purchased while studying at the University of St Andrews, where she first met Prince William twenty years ago.
The Duke and Duchess received a ceremonial welcome at Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport upon their arrival in Jamaica.
This visit coincided with a demonstration against their presence in the country, with up to 100 people protesting outside the British High Commission in Kingston.
The protesters raised concerns about having a UK head of state and Britain’s historic role in slavery.
Lisa Hanna, a former Miss World and current politician from the People’s National Party, called for a referendum to abolish the monarchy.
Despite the demonstration, the Duke and Duchess remained focused on their tour.
They were greeted by a lineup of dignitaries, including Lisa Hanna herself.
It is worth noting that the royal couple was aware of the protest.
William is set to address the issue of slavery in a keynote speech during a dinner hosted by the Governor-General, the Queen’s official representative on the island.
Kensington Palace released a holiday-style video of the couple diving in Belize before their arrival in Jamaica.
The footage showed William and Kate wearing scuba gear and swimming with a nurse shark.
Additionally, during their time in Jamaica, Kate made another outfit change.
She swapped her yellow dress for a striped coral and turquoise piece, believed to be a £369 print dress from Willow Hilson Vintage, a boutique based in Cheltenham.
The dress had a square neckline, but spaghetti straps and a shawl were also available.
Completing her ensemble were sandy-colored wedged shoes and a bangle designed by Jamaican artist LeChandler Bailey-Miller.
This visit to Jamaica marks an important milestone as the Queen last visited the country, her fourth-largest realm, in 2002.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend three days in Jamaica as part of the celebrations for the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee.
Despite the challenges faced upon their arrival, the royal couple remains committed to their duties and engagements, showcasing grace and style throughout their tour.
