In a relatable moment that many parents can understand, the Duchess of Cambridge found herself in a situation where she had to bring one of her children, Princess Charlotte, into a South London pub.
The incident occurred while they were traveling in a Black Range Rover through the capital.
It seems that Charlotte informed her mother that she needed to use the toilet, prompting them to search for the nearest bathroom.
They eventually arrived at the Phoenix Pub in Stockwell in 2018, where they entered hand-in-hand and politely asked if they could use the facilities.
The sight of the royal pair surprised the pub’s customers, who were taken aback by how normal and down-to-earth they appeared.
Maggie McKinney, a regular at the pub, shared her experience with Mail Online, saying, “I was sitting in my usual chair and when I looked up I saw Kate Middleton, I mean the Duchess of Cambridge, and her daughter Princess Charlotte.
The little kiddie just trotted in with her mum, went to the toilet, and then trotted out.
They could not have been in the pub for more than 10 minutes.
They seem very nice, totally normal.
Princess Kate was holding her daughter’s hand.
Princess Charlotte was just any other little girl.”
Before entering the pub, a plainclotheswoman, believed to be a protection officer, approached the bar staff to inquire about allowing a young girl to use the bathroom.
This precautionary measure is common for members of the royal family.
Looking ahead, next week marks an important milestone for Princess Charlotte as she returns to school after the summer holidays.
She attends Thomas’s School in Battersea, along with her older brother Prince George.
Charlotte will be entering year two, which is the final year of infant school.
At the end of the year, she will take year two SATS tests in English and Maths.
Meanwhile, Prince George will be starting year four, and their younger brother, Prince Louis, is expected to continue attending Wilcox Nursery near Kensington Palace until he starts school in September 2022.
According to Royal expert Duncan Larcombe, Kate is known for being very hands-on when it comes to preparing her children for the new school year.
Drawing from her own happy childhood and enjoyable school days, she uses her upbringing as a guide for raising her three children.
