During a visit to the Newham Ambulance Station in London, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, displayed her caring and kind nature in a subtle act of kindness.
Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, the royal couple found themselves caught in a light shower, as is typical in British weather.
While conversing with ambulance staff and paramedics outdoors under umbrellas, Kate noticed that one of her hosts was without an umbrella.
In a polite manner, the woman declined an offer for an umbrella, not wanting to cause any inconvenience.
However, the Duchess insisted that they had a spare one and promptly asked her protection officer to bring it over.
Overheard saying, “I feel bad you haven’t got an umbrella.
Would you like one?”
William echoed his wife’s sentiment, asking if there was a spare umbrella available.
Kate nodded as she observed her protection officer stepping forward to hand the lady an umbrella.
The purpose of the Cambridges’ visit to the ambulance station was to engage with the staff and gain insight into their experiences during one of the most challenging periods in the history of the London Ambulance Service.
During their brief visit, the royal couple joined paramedic Jay Khan in the station’s wellbeing garden.
They listened attentively as she shared how she coped with the pressures of responding to the Covid-19 crisis and the difficulties of being separated from her family due to isolation requirements.
Sporting a camel coat from Massimo Dutti, which she had previously worn, along with a matching rice polo neck jumper, Kate and William also took the opportunity to greet Jay’s family in Bangladesh over FaceTime.
William expressed admiration for Jay’s hard work, telling her father Abu, “You must be very proud of your daughter.
She works very hard, and she’s looking forward to seeing you soon.”
