A royal expert has foreseen that the Duchess of Sussex is unlikely to relocate her children, Archie and Lilibet, to the United Kingdom.
Despite reports suggesting the King’s eagerness for the Sussex children to reunite with his family, it appears that the young ones have spent minimal time in the UK, straining relations between the Sussexes and the royal household.
The Mirror reported that the King has extended an invitation to the Sussexes to spend the summer at Balmoral as a gesture of reconciliation.
Expressing skepticism about the Duchess accepting the invitation, royal expert Charlotte Griffiths conveyed doubts regarding the likelihood of her accompanying her children.
She cast doubt on the Duchess embracing a life of opulence at Balmoral, mentioning her lack of enthusiasm for rustic royal living conditions.
Griffiths questioned the notion of the Duchess spending an entire summer in the Highlands, hinting at her reluctance towards such a prospect.
An insider disclosed to Page Six the King’s strong desire to reunite with the Sussex children and his intention to extend an olive branch by inviting them to Balmoral.
The allure of Balmoral as an ideal setting for a family gathering was emphasized, suggesting that the Sussexes would likely accept the invitation should it be extended.
Despite stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and settling in California, the Sussexes have made occasional trips back to the UK for significant events.
Notably, Archie and Lilibet made their first visit to the UK during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.
However, the Duchess has refrained from returning to the UK since attending the Queen’s funeral in September 2022.
Consequently, the Duke attended the King’s coronation in May 2023 unaccompanied, highlighting the Duchess’s absence from key royal events.
While a visit to Balmoral may not be on the agenda, the Duke of Sussex is anticipated to make a notable return to the UK next month for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
Scheduled to be the guest speaker at a special service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8, the Duke’s upcoming visit signifies a significant moment in his return to the UK.
The Duchess’s reluctance to bring their children to the UK adds a layer of uncertainty to their future engagements with the royal family.
As the dynamics between the Sussexes and the royal household continue to evolve, the prospect of a family reunion at Balmoral remains uncertain.
