The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate, are currently enjoying the school holidays with their children.
As per tradition, they have traveled to Scotland to spend time with the Queen at Balmoral Castle during her summer break.
Last year, reports revealed that the Cambridge family spent the final week of the school holidays in August at the Royal Estate.
They were delighted to be reunited with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh after the lockdown period.
With 50,000 acres to explore, there is always plenty for the royals to do at Balmoral.
Apart from taking leisurely walks, the Queen and her family are known to enjoy activities such as barbecues, fishing, horse riding, and cycling on the estate.
Even from a young age, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have joined their great-grandparents in Scotland.
Earlier this year, after the passing of Prince Philip at the age of 99, William and Kate shared some previously unseen photos of their children at Balmoral with the Queen and the Duke.
One heartwarming photo showed the Cambridges with the monarch and her husband in 2015, when Princess Charlotte was just a few months old.
The Queen could be seen smiling sweetly at her great-granddaughter.
Another portrait captured the Queen and Prince Philip alongside seven of their great-grandchildren, including Prince Louis and his cousin, in a snap taken by Kate at Balmoral in 2018 when they were still babies.
In May, during his opening address at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, William spoke about his personal memories of Scotland.
He shared that Scotland held both his happiest and saddest memories.
William mentioned that he was at Balmoral when he received the news of his mother’s death.
In the midst of shock, he found solace in the service at Crathiekirk that very morning.
Throughout the dark days of grief that followed, the Scottish outdoors provided him with comfort and solace.
As a result, William feels a deep connection to Scotland that will last forever.
Additionally, he expressed great joy in the fact that it was in Scotland, 20 years ago, where he first met Catherine.
The town where they met holds a special place in both their hearts.
