In a scathing critique, Sarah Vine has expressed her belief that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should have their royal titles permanently revoked.

Despite stepping back as senior royals in 2020, the couple retained the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a decision that has been questioned by many.

Vine, writing for the Daily Mail, argues that the recent outing of the Duke and Duchess in Jamaica sends a clear signal of their intentions to exploit their royal connections for anti-monarchist sentiments.

She asserts that it appears they are using their royal connection to undermine both the individual reputations of members of the royal family and the institution as a whole.

The couple’s attendance at the premiere of Bob Marley’s “One Love” raised eyebrows, especially since Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, a vocal critic of the monarchy, was also present.

Holness plans to hold a referendum on the monarchy by 2025, and Vine claims that Harry and Meghan are contributing to the fueling of anti-royalist sentiments within the Commonwealth and beyond, expressing her disappointment.

Vine remarks that the late Queen, who loved the Commonwealth and used her position to foster forgiveness and understanding, would be heartbroken.

In her opinion, King Charles should take action and grant the couple their wish for freedom by stripping them of all titles.

Apart from their HRH titles, Harry has already relinquished his military honors and no longer wears the army uniform in public.

The Duke and Duchess officially stepped down from royal duties in January 2020, relocating to the U.S. with their son Archie.

Their family expanded with the birth of Lilibet in 2021.

While Harry and Meghan’s use of their royal titles has been a point of contention, Vine’s argument, fueled by the Jamaica trip, calls for a definitive separation.
