In a recent turn of events, Meghan Markle expressed her anger as the palace dismissed Prince Harry’s statement regarding peace talks, labeling it as a mere public relations stunt.
According to a royal expert interviewed by Fox News Digital Magazine, there are currently no planned peace talks between Prince Harry and King Charles III during Harry’s upcoming trip to Europe in September.
Initially, it was reported that the father and son would have a private meeting on September 17th, a date that holds significance as it coincides with the end of the Duke of Sussex’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf and the King’s return to London from Balmoral.
However, it now appears that hopes for reconciliation among the feuding royals are unfounded, as both Charles and William are opposed to such a meeting.
Charles reportedly feels deeply betrayed by Harry’s portrayal of him in his book and Netflix series.
The King has confirmed that no peace summit has taken place.
Given Harry’s previous actions, such as discussing Prince Philip’s passing and making comments about his mother, it is unsurprising that Charles would be hesitant to meet with him.
Over the past year, Harry and Charles have not arranged any direct communication, relying solely on their respective legal teams.
The rumored meeting between the two was never a realistic possibility, and it seems that Harry and Meghan’s PR team concocted this narrative to showcase Harry’s eagerness to reintegrate himself into the royal fold.
Despite attempts by their PR team to present them as a forgiving couple, false stories involving King Charles or Prince William are quickly debunked.
The media’s tendency to sensationalize such stories is truly astonishing.
Prince William, for his part, prefers to avoid Harry’s company, and the King wants to avoid any disturbances before an important trip.
When approached for comments on this matter, spokespeople for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as Buckingham Palace, did not immediately respond.
Several royal experts interviewed by Fox News expressed doubt that a peace summit is in the works between the monarch and the spare.
Duncan Lacombe, a royal expert, expressed skepticism and suggested that the timing might not be right for such discussions.
The strong emotions between Prince William and Prince Harry indicate that King Charles would carefully consider his options before attempting to mediate.
Lacombe believes that it would take a near miracle for the two brothers to mend their relationship.
Even if a summit were to take place, Meghan Markle is unlikely to be part of the conversation.
Trust is a significant factor, and the royals seem to lack trust in Meghan’s ability to keep matters confidential.
As a former American actress who became the Duchess of Sussex upon marrying Harry in 2018, there are reservations about trusting her due to concerns about sensitive conversations being shared with the American public.
In 2020, the couple announced their decision to step back from their roles as senior royals, citing media intrusion and racist attitudes in the UK.
They moved to Montecito, California, and later participated in a highly-publicized TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, as well as releasing a Netflix docuseries about their life.
Harry also published a best-selling memoir.
Christopher Anderson, author of “The King,” suggested that given the couple’s history of publicly airing grievances, King Charles is approaching the situation with caution.
Anderson emphasized that the focus of the King and Queen Camilla is on the future of the monarchy.
They are leveraging the popularity of trusted royals like Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and especially Prince William and Kate Middleton to uphold the monarchy’s image.
