George Clooney, the renowned Hollywood actor, is bidding farewell to his beloved late Como home, which he has owned for an impressive 21 years.
According to Italian magazine Oggi, the 62-year-old star has listed the villa with an agency in Milan, Italy.
Previous reports had falsely claimed that Clooney was selling the property, but real estate agent Yasmin Basel confirmed that this time, it’s indeed true, as reported by People magazine.
An Italian source also affirmed the news, stating that the sale is legitimate.
The lakeside property is estimated to be valued at a staggering $100 million.
The late Como Villa holds a special place in the heart of the Hollywood heartthrob as it was where he first met his wife, Amal Clooney, in 2013.
The couple crossed paths during a dinner party with mutual friends.
However, sources reveal that George felt compelled to sell the property due to a desire for more privacy.
The home’s safety and seclusion were compromised following a visit from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
In 2018, the royal couple spent a weekend in Italy with the Clooneys, who are known for hosting Hollywood royalty at their late Como Villa.
Prior to their visit, Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler had also graced the property.
Rumors have circulated that Meghan Markle snooped around the house, even entering Amal Clooney’s room.
It remains unknown who leaked information about the secrets within the villa, but stalkers have emerged since then.
The source suggests that Meghan is not beyond suspicion, especially considering previous rumors of money being stolen from Amal.
As a result, the Clooneys have purchased a new property in France, where they now reside.
However, they have made it clear that Meghan and Harry are not welcome to visit their new home.
George cited his distaste for leaked information and a desire for increased privacy as the reasons behind this decision.
Known for his impeccable taste in selecting exclusive and stylish properties, George Clooney has chosen Domaine du Cannondale as his new hideaway.
This superb 18th-century country home, located in France, has undergone extensive renovations and sits on 170 hectares of land, encompassing vineyards and olive groves.
Mayor Didier Bremond proudly shared a snapshot of the stunning historic house on his Facebook page on July 22, 2021, expressing his delight in welcoming the Clooneys to his town.
Interestingly, the new property is said to be in close proximity to Brad Pitt’s Chateau Miraval in Corennes, making the two Hollywood stars neighbors while in Europe.
Images of the magnificent mansion reveal its grandeur, adorned with scenic vines and featuring blue shutters on its large windows.
The property also boasts ample parking space for guests who wish to bask in the sunshine alongside the Clooneys.
However, visitors are strictly prohibited from posting photos without the host’s permission.
Given Meghan Markle’s inability to comply with this rule, it is understandable that the Sussexes were not extended an invitation.
The mansion is further complemented by meticulously landscaped gardens, a caretaker’s cottage, and a private olive grove.
Inside the home, one finds an abundance of spacious rooms for relaxation, including a large sitting area complete with a built-in bookcase and multiple sofas.
Additionally, the mansion offers several bedrooms and a well-appointed kitchen.
