Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was recently released from prison after serving eight years for the murder of her abusive mother, has declined an invitation from Meghan Markle to appear on her Spotify podcast, Archetypes.
Blanchard, a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder involving a caretaker making someone ill for attention, expressed her reluctance to associate with Markle, whom she accused of being a hypocrite and manipulator.
In an email obtained by TMZ, Blanchard wrote, “I appreciate the offer, but I have to decline.
After eight years in prison, I don’t want any bad affiliation, especially not with you, Meghan.
All I want is positivity onwards, and you are not a role model for me.
You claim to be a feminist, but you have done nothing but tear down other women, especially the royal family, who welcomed you with open arms.”
Blanchard continued her criticism, stating, “You claim to be a victim of racism and bullying, but you have been exposed as a bully yourself, who made your staff cry and drove your brother-in-law and sister-in-law away.
You claim to care about mental health, but you have exploited your own struggles for sympathy and attention, while ignoring the suffering of others.”
Blanchard also took issue with Markle’s podcast, describing it as a means of imposing her views and agenda on the listeners.
She made it clear that she did not wish to be part of what she perceived as Markle’s propaganda.
Instead, Blanchard emphasized her focus on rebuilding her life and helping other survivors of abuse.
“I have been through hell and back, and I have learned a lot from my experience,” Blanchard wrote.
“I have learned to be grateful, humble, and honest.
I have learned to forgive, but not forget.
I have learned to be strong, but not bitter.
I have learned to be happy, but not complacent.
I have learned to be myself, but not selfish.
These are the values that I live by, and these are the values that I want to share with the world.
You, Meghan, do not share these values.
You are the opposite of everything that I stand for, and everything that I aspire to be.”
While Markle has not publicly responded to Blanchard’s email, sources close to her revealed to TMZ that she was shocked and hurt by the rejection.
They explained that Markle had reached out to Blanchard as a gesture of compassion and solidarity, hoping to provide her with a platform to share her story and inspire others.
According to one source, Archetypes is a podcast where Markle explores and challenges labels that hinder women’s progress.
The intention behind inviting Blanchard for an interview was to showcase her as an example of a woman who had overcome a harrowing ordeal and false labeling, demonstrating courage and resilience.
Markle’s aim was to celebrate Blanchard’s strength rather than exploit her.
The sources emphasized Markle’s passion for the podcast and her belief in its potential to make a positive impact on the world.
They stated that she is unafraid of controversy and criticism, remaining confident and determined to achieve success with her vision.
