Queen Camilla and Princess Anne have been shouldering the responsibilities of the royal family as King Charles and the Princess of Wales continue their recovery.
With Prince William stepping back from his duties to support Kate, who is recuperating from planned abdominal surgery, it has fallen upon the 76-year-old Queen and the 73-year-old Princess Royal to fulfill most of the recent royal engagements.
A heartwarming scene unfolded in Bath as nearly 1,000 enthusiastic children welcomed Queen Camilla on Thursday.
The occasion marked the 850th anniversary of St John’s Foundation care homes, which provide a safe haven for the elderly.
During a tea break, 90-year-old Lisa Anderson shared that her husband was recovering well, expressing her gratitude.
Despite her packed schedule, the Queen appeared tireless and engaged in lively conversations about the joys of gardening and dancing, two activities she finds particularly enjoyable.
Dressed elegantly in an Anna Valentin coat and Fiona Clare blouse, Camilla emphasized the therapeutic benefits of gardening, stating, “It gets everyone outside.
I find it the most relaxing thing in the world.
When you come in and everything starts to bloom, it’s all worth it.”
Meanwhile, Princess Anne has taken measures to manage her workload by appointing a new private secretary and adding five additional ladies-in-waiting.
This decision follows the retirement of four senior members from her entourage.
Known for her no-nonsense attitude, the Princess often displays her sentimental side.
Interestingly, two of her newly appointed ladies-in-waiting previously held positions under her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
A source close to the Princess revealed, “She is a hardworking individual who understands that people cannot dedicate their entire lives to supporting her.
She neither expects nor wants that.
Instead, she leverages her connections in specific fields, seeking assistance without burdening public funds.
It’s akin to having a football team with an extensive roster of players.”
Additionally, Princess Anne will temporarily assume some of the King’s responsibilities, including the distribution of honors, as he recovers from prostate surgery.
This demonstrates her unwavering commitment to fulfilling her duties and supporting the monarchy during times of need.
