Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves in a predicament during their unexpected trip to Jamaica.
The royal couple had traveled to attend the premiere of the Bob Marley movie, “One Love,” but their return to the United States hit a snag when two Hollywood stars refused to offer them a private jet.
Following their rare red-carpet appearance at the Carib Theatre in Kingston, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had planned to fly back to California on Sunday.
However, their plans were thwarted when they failed to secure a flight.
Sources reveal that Harry and Meghan had hoped for a ride with Lauren Sanchez, the billionaire wife of Amazon’s founder, who was also present at the premiere with her girlfriend.
Unfortunately, their request was turned down as Sanchez claimed her jet was already full.
Undeterred, the couple then approached John Travolta, the Greek star and licensed pilot, to inquire about joining him on his plane.
However, reports suggest that the actor, known for his devout scientology beliefs and loyalty to close friend Tom Cruise, declined their request.
Cruise, who has had a public feud with Harry and Meghan, even challenged them to a dance at the premiere.
Despite declining the invitation, the Sussexes may face another encounter with Cruise, as he plans to promote his latest film in Jamaica.
He initially criticized the couple for exploiting Bob Marley’s legacy for their own agenda.
With no other options available, Harry and Meghan were forced to spend an additional night in Jamaica as they tried to find an alternative route back to the United States.
They stayed at a local hotel, where they faced harassment from angry protesters who accused them of disrespecting Jamaican culture.
The protesters waved Jamaican flags and chanted slogans, expressing their disappointment in the couple for allegedly ignoring the struggles of Jamaicans dealing with poverty, corruption, and violence.
They also accused Harry and Meghan of abandoning their royal duties and attending the premiere with anti-royal Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holmes.
The ordeal left Harry and Meghan shocked and humiliated, adding to the backlash they were already facing from the British public and royal family for their decision to step back from their royal duties and relocate to the United States.
Finally, on Monday, the couple managed to secure a flight after reaching out to Oprah Winfrey, who had also attended the premiere.
Oprah, a close friend and supporter of Harry and Meghan, agreed to let them join her on her private jet.
However, there was a condition attached to the favor.
The media mogul, who previously conducted a blockbuster TV interview with the Sussexes, requested another interview in return.
Reluctantly, Harry and Meghan agreed to Oprah’s request, knowing that it would likely lead to further revelations about their lives as royals.
In their first interview, they had shared shocking details about mental health struggles, accusations of racism, and conflicts within the royal family.
Boarding Oprah’s jet, they hoped to put the Jamaican nightmare behind them.
Little did they know, their troubles were far from over.
As they flew back to America, news of their secret plans to move to Jamaica had been leaked to the press.
This revelation sparked a fresh wave of criticism, further complicating their already tumultuous journey.
