Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, if they choose to attend King Charles’ coronation, will not be visible from the Buckingham Palace balcony, according to reports.
The couple, who have received an official invitation to the May ceremony, are not expected to have a formal role in the coronation if they decide to travel from their California home to the UK.
This means that they will likely not take part in the family parade and will not join the other members of the royal family on the palace balcony.
The decision on whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make the 5,000-mile journey has not yet been disclosed by their representatives.
The New York Post has reached out to both the Sussexes and Buckingham Palace for comments on the matter.
This latest development adds to the ongoing tensions within the royal family since Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior members in 2020.
Last summer, the couple was absent from the palace balcony during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, causing controversy and further straining relationships.
The timing of Charles’ formal coronation on May 6, which coincides with their son Archie’s fourth birthday, has led some fans to speculate that it was deliberately chosen to create a conflict for the Sussexes.
It also comes shortly after Charles initiated the process of evicting them from Frogmore Cottage, the opulent five-bedroom home given to them as a wedding gift by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Currently, Harry, Meghan, and their children reside in a $14 million estate in Montecito, California, including their one-year-old daughter Lilibet.
As for Frogmore Cottage, it has been reported that Prince Andrew, who has apparently been expelled from Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, will now be moving in.
In addition to the uncertainty surrounding Harry and Meghan’s attendance, rumors have also surfaced regarding Prince Andrew’s involvement in his brother’s coronation.
There were speculations that he might not be allowed to wear his ceremonial robes.
According to a source cited by the Mirror, Andrew was kept in the dark about the dress code for the event, leaving him feeling humiliated and dictated to.
Shifting focus to another news story, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is expected to have a significant role at the upcoming Oscars ceremony as part of her effort to rebrand herself.
The biopic “Elvis” has received eight nominations at the prestigious awards, and Ferguson has close ties to the Presley family.
While she spends more time in the US promoting her novels and pursuing her profession away from the royal life, there have been rumors of her appearance at the Oscars ceremony on Sunday night.
Due to her friendship with the late Lisa Marie Presley, whom she spoke at the funeral of earlier this year, Ferguson is speculated to be presenting an award.
The biopic “Elvis” has been nominated in eight categories for the ceremony, which will be televised on Sunday, March 12.
A source revealed to The Sun that discussions about Ferguson’s participation have taken place, and it now seems likely that she will indeed be presenting an award.
Ferguson has been touring the US this week to promote her new historical romance novel, “A Most Fascinating Woman,” which was released on March 7.
Her presence at the Oscars is seen as significant, both for the event and for the Duchess herself, as she continues to establish her post-royal identity.
