In the early stages of Harry and Meghan’s relationship, rumors circulated on social media suggesting that Harry’s best friend, Tom Inskip, also known as Skippy, had met Meghan before Harry.
This encounter made him skeptical of their relationship, ultimately leading to his removal from Harry’s inner circle.
Initially, those within Harry’s circle never anticipated the relationship to progress this far, considering it a mere fling.
Allegedly, many stories have emerged about events leading up to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018.
Reports have surfaced regarding heated family disputes, claims of Queen Elizabeth summoning Prince Harry for a reprimand, and Meghan’s discontent with numerous proposed plans.
Undoubtedly, this period presented significant challenges for the royal staff behind the palace walls.
However, it seems that the struggles were not limited to the staff alone.
Several of Harry’s close school friends reportedly felt that he had changed drastically since his relationship with Meghan began.
Expressing their concerns, they were met with Prince Harry’s anger and subsequently barred from attending the evening wedding reception.
According to the book “Finding Freedom” by Omid Scobie and Caroline Durand, Prince Harry’s friend Tom Inskip felt as though he had lost a friend following Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
The authors claimed that Tom had expressed apprehension about the rapid pace of Harry’s new relationship, suggesting that the couple should live together before tying the knot.
Although Tom’s comments were well-intentioned, Prince Harry was allegedly deeply hurt, resulting in him banning his old school friend from the evening wedding reception.
The authors noted that Skippy, Harry’s old friend, was notably absent from the reception, despite being invited to the wedding ceremony and lunchtime reception hosted by the Queen.
In their biography, Scobie and Durand also detailed Tom’s disappointment, which he expressed during brunch with friends the next day.
According to reports, he allegedly said, “Meghan has changed Harry too much, and we’ve lost him.”
Another former Eton friend claimed that Prince Harry was captivated by the likes of George and Amal Clooney and Oprah Winfrey.
The authors added that many of Harry’s old friends believed that the evening guest list was a way for the couple to signal who they wanted in their lives moving forward.
Another claim regarding escalating tension between Prince Harry and his old schoolmates emerged in Tom Bower’s book “Revenge, Meghan and Harry and the War Between the Windsors.”
Bower explained that Harry invited 16 of his old friends from Eton to join him at Sandringham for a weekend of activities.
However, after meeting Meghan for the first time, everyone left feeling exhausted.
Bower described Meghan as challenging every guest who contradicted her values, lacking any sense of humor and acting as a dampener on the party atmosphere.
Bower further revealed that Meghan confronted guests over jokes involving sexism, feminism, and transgender issues, causing discomfort among the attendees.
As the guests drove home after Sunday lunch, texts were exchanged between the cars expressing astonishment at Meghan’s behavior.
One text read, “Oh my god, what about her?
Harry must be fucking nuts.”
The revelations surrounding Harry’s inner circle shed light on the complexities and challenges faced by those close to the royal couple.
It appears that the dynamics within Harry’s friendships have shifted significantly since his relationship with Meghan began, leaving some feeling excluded and estranged.
