Kate Middleton has reportedly been deeply affected by the comments made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a royal expert.
Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, stated that the Prince and Princess of Wales have refused to consider the possibility of repairing their fractured relationship with Harry and Meghan.
She further explained that it was evident that Kate had been hurt and insulted by the statements made by the Sussexes.
Bond revealed that Prince William and Kate made an effort to mend the family rift during Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021.
However, their attempt was unsuccessful as a result of a heated argument.
Speaking to OK Magazine, she shared, “There comes a point when you just have to accept that happy families are not a game that everyone can play.”
She emphasized that Kate and William are a strong team and have likely concluded that the rift with Harry cannot be resolved in the foreseeable future.
The divide between Prince Harry and Prince William first became apparent in 2019 when they acknowledged taking different paths in life.
The situation worsened in January 2020 when Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as working members of the Royal Family and relocated to California.
Despite Prince Harry’s visits to the UK for significant events such as the deaths of Prince Philip and the Queen, the rift remains unhealed.
Even though the group, once known as the ‘Fab Four,’ were photographed together at a funeral service for the late Queen, tensions have escalated due to claims made in a documentary series released by Meghan and Harry, as well as in Harry’s book, “Spare.”
Bond mentioned that William, like his father, can become hot-headed, but Kate possesses the ability to calm him down.
She expressed confidence that William and Kate provide great support to each other, highlighting Kate’s exceptional role as a source of encouragement for her husband.
In the midst of these developments, Buckingham Palace has denied reports suggesting that King Charles might be compelled to allow Prince Harry to stay at Kensington Palace during his future visits to the UK.
The alleged tensions revolve around Prince Harry’s role as a counsellor-of-state, one of the seven members of the royal family who can act on behalf of the King if he is overseas or unwell.
According to the law, counsellors of state, including Princess Anne and Prince Edward, must have a residence in Britain.
However, as Harry now resides in California, he effectively lacks a home in the UK after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage earlier this year.
To address this issue, sources claim that discussions have taken place within royal circles about leasing a property on a royal estate to Harry and Meghan.
One potential option mentioned was an apartment at Kensington Palace, where Prince William and Kate currently reside.
Nevertheless, these suggestions were swiftly dismissed.
A friend of Prince Charles clarified, “The King can see that to remove Harry as a counsellor of state would be seen as an act of antagonism, and he does not want to do that.”
The notion of providing a pied-à-terre for Harry on a royal estate was deemed reasonable under the circumstances.
However, Buckingham Palace refuted these claims, stating unequivocally that they are false.
In conclusion, it is evident that Kate Middleton has been deeply affected by the comments made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The rift between the two couples shows no signs of resolution in the near future, as the Prince and Princess of Wales have closed their minds to the possibility of reconciliation.
The tensions between Harry and William have been exacerbated by claims made in various media outlets.
Despite attempts to repair the relationship, the divide remains unhealed.
Additionally, reports suggesting that Prince Harry could stay at Kensington Palace have been denied by Buckingham Palace.
The situation surrounding Harry’s role as a counsellor-of-state has also contributed to the ongoing tensions within the Royal Family.
