Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been presented with a stunning jewellery set by her father-in-law, Prince Charles.
This generous gift was given to her shortly after her marriage to Prince William.
Known for his thoughtful gestures, Prince William had previously proposed to Kate with Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
On their wedding day, Kate borrowed a piece from the Queen’s collection, specifically the Cartier Halo tiara, which she wore while walking down the aisle.
Since then, she has continued to showcase various royal gifts and borrowed pieces during official engagements.
The jewellery set received from Prince Charles after her wedding is particularly special to Kate.
It includes a custom-made bracelet, ring, and earrings, all crafted from white gold and adorned with diamonds.
The estimated value of this classic set is an impressive £60,000.
Anna Buyers, Head of Bespoke at 77 Diamonds, explains that Kate likely received this set shortly after her wedding.
Expressing her excitement about the gift, Anna reveals that Prince Charles gifted his new daughter-in-law matching yellow and white gold pieces.
These include a ring, bracelet, and a pair of drop earrings, which Kate has been seen wearing on multiple occasions.
The earrings, designed in an Art Deco style, appear to have been specially made for her.
Based on images, Anna estimates the value of the earrings to be around £15,000, while the bracelet is valued at approximately £45,000.
The timing of Prince Charles’ gift suggests that he was eager to welcome Kate into the family.
Kate herself expressed her gratitude by wearing the jewellery set during her first solo engagement as a royal.
In October 2011, when she stood in for her father-in-law Prince Charles, Kate notably donned these precious pieces.
Since then, she has continued to wear them on various occasions, including a tour of North America.
