Kensington Palace has delighted royal fans by sharing a precious and rare photograph of the late Princess Diana as a child, enjoying the festive season at home.
The image captures a young Kate, seated at a dining table in a charming wooden chair adorned with Christmas tinsel.
Princess Diana looks absolutely adorable, dressed in a red and blue striped dress embellished with ruby red buttons and a pristine white collar.
She completes her look with a navy cardigan and a vibrant technicolour necklace, featuring yellow, white, blue, and green beads.
In this heartwarming throwback snapshot, Kate bears a striking resemblance to her youngest son, Prince Louis, as she appears to relish a bowl of Christmas delicacies.
The Prince and Princess of Wales also shared this endearing photo on their official Instagram account, captioning it, “Showing some festive memories this Christmas because hashtag shaping us is all about the vital importance of our early years and the role played by those around us in shaping the rest of our lives.”
Royal enthusiasts flooded the comments section, expressing their delight and admiration for the cherished image.
One fan wrote, “My god, what a gorgeous photo of baby Catherine!
Louis is her twin.
What a lovely surprise.
Thank you for sharing.”
Another chimed in, “Adorable!
Louis looks a lot like her.”
A third commenter noted, “Prince Louis looks like his mum,” while a fourth sweetly added, “Not me having the same placemats growing up.”
This new photo of Princess Catherine has overshadowed Meghan Markle’s recent move, wherein rumors were spread by the Markle Camps alleging that Kate and William had hired a child to impersonate Louis after accusing the Welsers of photoshopping their Christmas card.
Is there really a borrowed child who bears an uncanny resemblance to his mother?
Meghan Markle was recently subjected to satire on Saturday Night Live, as the show took a jab at Prince William and Princess Kate’s Christmas card.
The Welsers had shared their delightful Christmas card, featuring William, Kate, and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all beaming in matching outfits for a black and white snapshot.
During the skit, SNL cast member Colin Jost humorously pointed out a peculiar detail in the card, which he cleverly incorporated into a joke about the Markle family.
He quipped, “A Christmas photo released by the royal family features a bad photoshop job where Prince Louis’s finger appears to be missing.
And this is sweet, Meghan Markle said she has a finger they can use if they need it.”
A pixelated photo of Meghan seemingly making an offensive gesture was then displayed alongside the Welsers’ Christmas card.
However, it should be noted that Prince Louis’s finger was not missing; it was simply extended, as we analyzed in our previous video.
This isn’t the first time Meghan, Harry’s wife, has been the subject of jokes.
Back in March, SNL playfully mocked her attendance at the coronation.
Comedian Michael Chey took aim at the Duchess of Sussex, making a tongue-in-cheek remark about the speculation surrounding Meghan and Prince Harry’s presence at King Charles’ coronation.
