Kim Kardashian’s new crime podcast, “The System: The Case of Kevin Keith,” has quickly climbed to the top of Spotify’s most popular podcasts.
With only two episodes released since its launch on October 3rd, the show has already surpassed long-time favorite, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
This surge in popularity comes as Meghan Markle’s podcast, “Archetypes,” drops to the fourth spot.
“The System” delves into the case of Kevin Keith, an Ohio man who was initially sentenced to death for a triple murder.
However, former governor Ted Strickland later commuted his sentence to life without parole in 2010.
Kim Kardashian’s massive following, which includes 331 million Instagram followers, has undoubtedly contributed to the podcast’s success.
Meghan Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast debuted at number one when its first episode was released last month.
However, it now finds itself in fourth place after a brief hiatus following the Queen’s passing.
Some fans had anticipated Markle would surpass the Kardashians in popularity, but it seems she hasn’t achieved the level of success she desired.
In her latest episode of “Archetypes,” Meghan Markle examined the portrayal of East Asian women in movies, specifically focusing on the temptress archetype.
However, her critique has faced backlash from Glasgow comedian Leo Kurz.
He labeled Markle as “insufferably woke, race-baiting, self-obsessed grifter,” dismissing her analysis of Asian stereotypes in films like “Kill Bill” and “Austin Powers.”
Kurz sarcastically remarked that he believed these movies were documentaries, emphasizing that their portrayals have no bearing on real life.
He then went on to mockingly suggest that Markle might complain about other films, such as “Lethal Weapon” for its unrealistic depiction of police paperwork or “Paddington Bear” for spreading dangerous myths about bears’ approachability and language skills.
Piers Morgan, a vocal critic of Meghan Markle, also chimed in on her recent claims of being a princess.
Despite marrying a prince, Meghan’s official title on her son Archie’s birth certificate is listed as “Princess of the United Kingdom.”
However, she cannot be referred to as “Princess Meghan” as she was not born into the royal family.
During her podcast, Meghan expressed her awareness of young girls calling her a real-life princess.
This statement infuriated Piers Morgan, who vehemently disagreed with her self-proclaimed princess status.
He emphasized that Meghan is not a princess and questioned whether there will come a point when King Charles revokes their titles, as they seem to use their royal status for personal gain.
While Kim Kardashian’s crime podcast continues to gain momentum, Meghan Markle’s podcast has faced setbacks.
The battle for podcast supremacy between these two influential figures remains ongoing, captivating listeners worldwide.
