In a newly released coronation portrait, King Charles is seated between his two heirs, the Prince of Wales and Prince George.
This photograph serves as a visual representation of the line of succession for the royal family.
The last time a similar portrait was released was in 2020 when the late Queen Elizabeth posed with her three generations of heirs, marking the beginning of a new decade.
Though Queen Elizabeth is no longer with us, the message remains the same – continuity and a confirmed future.
The portrait was taken in Buckingham Palace’s throne room, shortly after Charles’s coronation at Westminster Abbey last Saturday.
During the ceremony, Prince William pledged an oath of loyalty to his father, while Prince George, third in line to the throne, played a significant role as a page of honor to the king.
In the portrait, King Charles is seen wearing the robe of estate and the imperial state crown, holding the sovereign’s orb and sovereign’s scepter with a cross.
He is seated on one of the pair of 1902 throne chairs, originally made for the Prince and Princess of Wales during the coronation of King Edward VII.
Another photograph captures King Charles and Queen Camilla, accompanied by their pages of honor and ladies in attendance.
Among the king’s pages are Prince George, Ralph Ptolemais, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, and Nicholas Barclay.
Queen Camilla chose her grandsons Freddie Parker Bowles, twins Gus and Louis Lopez, and her great-nephew Arthur Elliot.
The King and Queen, with Queen Camilla wearing Queen Mary’s crown and robe of estate, are flanked by Camilla’s sister Annabelle Elliot and the Marchioness of Lansdowne, who has been a companion to the Queen since 2022.
These stunning portraits were captured by photographer Hugh Bernard, who also took Charles and Camilla’s wedding pictures in 2005.
While these portraits symbolize unity and the royal family’s future, they have also sparked discussions about the strained relationship between Prince Harry and his nephew, Prince George.
Some believe that this photo will deeply affect Harry, as it reinforces his perceived irrelevance within the family.
One commentator even stated, “Imagine being replaced by a nine-year-old boy.
Prince George looks so proud.”
Over the years, royal experts have suggested that Harry harbors feelings of jealousy towards his older brother, William.
However, recent reports suggest that this envy has extended unsettlingly towards young Prince George.
According to the biography “Courtiers,” Harry was fixated on how his nephew’s birth would push him further down the line of succession, ultimately making him obsolete within the family.
A source close to the author, Valentin Lowe, revealed, “He had this thing that he had a shelf life.
He’d say, ‘I have this time to make an impact until George turns 18.’
Then I’ll be the also-run.”
This rivalry between Harry and William has been ongoing, with American journalist Tina Brown, a friend of the late Princess Diana, disclosing that Harry would often express his jealousy to his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Davy.
The friction between the brothers escalated when their professional alignments diverged, as stated in Tina’s allegations.
While William can understand Harry’s jealousy growing up, given his seniority in the family, involving George in this animosity has crossed a line.
An insider shared, “William and Kate have done everything they can to protect George and prepare him to one day be king.
And now it seems he even has to worry about backstabbing comments from his adult uncle.”
