King Charles and Prince Andrew have come to a surprising agreement after a prolonged and acrimonious clash over housing arrangements.
The Mirror has disclosed that the disgraced Duke of York has yet to face consequences for his potential eviction from the expansive 30-room royal suite in Windsor.
According to a British news agency, the Prince has reached a deal with the King to contribute approximately £2 million, equivalent to $4.1 million, towards necessary repairs.
As an interim measure, the Duke of York has reportedly already allocated £200,000 for roof repairs but is obligated to secure additional funds for the remaining renovation work to retain his residence.
A confidant of the controversial royal disclosed to the Mirror the existence of a strained relationship between Andrew and his brother in recent times.
Since 2003, Andrew, aged 63, has resided in a sizable property near Windsor Castle, close to London, alongside his former spouse Sarah, Duchess of York, also 63, subsequent to the Prince signing a 74-year lease for the 30-room abode.
Nevertheless, in what appears to be a cost-saving initiative by King Charles, plans were made to relocate the couple to Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Insiders informed Page Six that the relocation scheme was postponed due to Sarah undergoing an extensive eight-hour mastectomy procedure following her diagnosis with breast cancer.
A close acquaintance of the Duchess, who shares daughters Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 33, with Andrew, provided an update stating that she is currently recuperating at home.
The source emphasized the seriousness of the operation and highlighted the unwavering support received, noting the positive progress of both Beatrice and Eugenie.
Presently, Eugenie resides at Frogmore Cottage with her husband Jack Brooksbank, 37, their newborn son born on August 2, and the recently welcomed infant son Ernest.
Andrew faced disgrace and was relieved of all official responsibilities and financial provisions after reaching a substantial settlement with Virginia Giuffre, a 39-year-old victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s s**-trafficking activities.
Acknowledging the necessity of the settlement, Andrew appeared to lack the financial means to cover the rent and general maintenance costs of the estate owned by the Crown Estate.
