Rumored peace negotiations between King Charles, the Prince of Wales, and the Duke of Sussex have been called off, as the monarch feels deeply betrayed by Harry and disgusted by his brother’s behavior.
There had been speculation that the King and Prince William would meet Harry on September 17th, during the Duke of Sussex’s brief stopover in the UK between Germany and his US home.
A royal source informed OK magazine in the UK that King Charles is scheduled to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September, coinciding with the conclusion of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf.
This would provide a window of opportunity for the King to meet with his son, as he has a few days to spare in London before his official visit to France on September 20th.
However, it now seems that hopes for a truce between the feuding royals were unfounded.
The Daily Beast, a US website, reports that both Charles and William are against such a meeting.
“Charles won’t be seeing Harry, and nor will William.
No chance,” a source close to the Prince of Wales told the publication.
The source revealed that Harry’s tell-all revelations had been William’s worst nightmare, as they violated his privacy and included criticisms of Kate and his parenting.
The fallout from Harry’s actions has caused irreparable damage to his relationship with his brother and sister-in-law.
“It’s completely understandable that right now William is still absolutely disgusted by what his brother has done,” the source added.
“Harry will never have William at his side ever again, and even Catherine has lost empathy towards him.
He destroyed every relationship he had with all these close family members and close friends, all for a two-bit actor who discards people once they’re no longer useful to her.”
Another friend of the royals confirmed that while the door is always open to Harry, the King will be busy preparing for his state visit to France on September 17th.
“The King loves both of his sons, and his door is always open to Harry, but I don’t think they’ll be meeting on September 17th,” the source stated.
Previous reports from OK!
magazine suggested that if a meeting were to take place, Harry would have to commit to not discussing any private family matters in public, as the King had been deeply hurt by his son’s previous comments.
Charles was particularly disturbed by references in Harry’s memoir, where Queen Camilla was portrayed as a villain and dangerous.
The truth is that Harry and Charles never made arrangements to speak directly, and all communication between them goes through lawyers.
A meeting was never going to happen.
The claims made by Harry and Meghan’s PR were fabricated, in their desperate attempt to portray themselves as a forgiving couple.
However, when false suggestions involving King Charles or Prince William are spread, they are swiftly shut down.
It is astonishing how the media picks up these outrageous stories and runs with them.
Prince William, in particular, prefers to avoid being in the company of Harry, and the King would not want Harry to upset him before an important trip.
The chances of a reconciliation between the feuding royals seem bleak, as the wounds caused by Harry’s actions run deep.
