The invitations for King Charles’ coronation have yet to be sent out, but according to royal sources, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will definitely be on the list.
While sources told People Magazine last week that the Duke and Duchess have not been invited, one royal insider stated that it is still early days and no one has received an invitation yet.
However, some royal insiders claim that Princess Anne intervened at the last minute to prevent Harry and Meghan from being invited to the coronation celebration, citing concerns about their potential impact on the monarchy.
Despite this, the guest list has not been finalized, and no invites have been issued.
On May 6, Charles will officially be crowned monarch at Westminster Abbey, alongside his wife, Queen Consort Camilla.
Page Six has been repeatedly informed that the Sussexes will be invited, despite their strained relationship with the royal family, which has reportedly worsened due to Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” and the couple’s Netflix show, “Harry and Meghan.”
There have been rumors in the UK that Harry may travel alone from California for the coronation, but a royal insider confirmed that everyone is expecting both Harry and Meghan to attend.
This date also coincides with their son Archie’s 4th birthday.
Last week, a source close to Harry and Meghan revealed that they have not yet received an invitation to the ceremony, which will be attended by numerous world leaders, and there has been no progress towards reconciliation.
In an interview last month, Harry expressed his hope for a discussion, saying, “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then, but you know the door is always open.
The ball’s in their court.”
Since the Sussexes’ media blitz, the royal family has remained silent.
Royal author Robert Lacey commented, “There have been some grave disagreements between them, but the platinum jubilee and the funerals of the Queen and Prince Philip did demonstrate they could put personal enmity aside for the sake of a bigger cause, and that is what the coronation will be about.”
Last week, Charles unintentionally provided a humorous response when asked if it was strange for his son to be welcomed back into the royal fold.
During a meeting with students at the University of East London, Charles responded, “Can you bring back Harry?
Who?”
It seemed that the king didn’t hear the complete question and his reply was not intended to sass his son.
Once he realized what the fan actually said, Charles laughed briefly before moving on.
The question now remains: Will King Charles extend an invitation to Harry and Meghan after everything that has happened?
Is the royal palace in turmoil as Meghan’s plans unfold?
