King Charles has been discharged from the hospital following his treatment for an enlarged prostate, according to an announcement made by Buckingham Palace.
His wife, Queen Camilla, arrived at the London Clinic just half an hour before to ensure she was there to pick him up.
The couple appeared joyful as they waved to the crowds gathered at the front entrance of the clinic at 3pm, before heading to a waiting car.
In a statement released by the Palace, it was revealed that the monarch is now back home and has rescheduled his public engagements until he fully recovers.
The statement added that Clarence House in London will serve as his residence during his period of recuperation.
King Charles will take a month off from his royal duties, marking his longest ever absence, but he will continue to read his governmental red boxes.
It is worth noting that Charles was admitted to the London Clinic, where his daughter-in-law Catherine underwent a planned abdominal surgery just 13 days ago.
Hours before the King’s discharge, Kate, the Princess of Wales, also returned home to Windsor, where she will continue her recovery.
Kensington Palace shared that the Princess is making good progress and expressed gratitude for the well wishes received from around the world.
Interestingly, the announcement coincided with the update of new profile pictures of the Wales children on the Palace’s website, while Harry and Meghan’s children were not included.
The profile pictures of the Prince and Princess of Wales were recently updated as well.
Notably, there is a profile page for Archie, the putative male Sussex child, but none for Lilibet, the female.
However, Archie’s picture has not been updated, as the Palace has not received any record of the child’s development from the parents.
Furthermore, there is no information or photos of Archie after May 8th, 2018, which raises curiosity.
The disparity between the coverage of George and Archie is quite striking.
The world celebrated George’s birth, and individual members of the Windsor and Spencer families were informed and delighted.
Additionally, George’s christening details are available, while Archie’s are absent.
The absence of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Archie’s christening also seemed peculiar at the time.
It is likely that Harry and Meghan may feel frustrated by the limited coverage Archie receives compared to George.
Buckingham Palace’s response to this matter is that only information and photos released by Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, and Kensington Palace are included on the website.
Any requests for additions will be considered, but only if they can be fully verified for authenticity and truthfulness.
Incomplete, misleading, or untruthful information will not be added.
