In a heart-wrenching admission, King Charles responded with just four words when asked about bringing his son, Prince Harry, back.
The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from the royal family since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
Over the years, the couple has made a series of shocking claims about the royals through interviews, their Netflix documentary, “Harry and Meghan,” and Harry’s memoir, “Spare.”
Throughout these revelations, the monarch has often been the target of these accusations.
In the documentary, Prince Harry claimed that his father lied during a crucial meeting around the time he decided to leave the UK.
In his book, he further wrote about how Charles prioritized his own interests over his son’s.
Despite these claims, neither the King nor any other member of the royal family has commented on the Sussexes’ allegations.
Furthermore, Charles rarely speaks about his son publicly, if ever.
However, there was one instance last year when Charles gave a brief response when asked about Harry.
During a visit to the University of East London’s Stratford campus for its 125th anniversary, the King unveiled a plaque and opened its new hospital and primary care training hub.
As he interacted with students and well-wishers, one man in the crowd shouted, ”Bring back Harry please, can you please bring him back please, sir?”
Appearing not to have heard the request clearly, Charles asked who the man was referring to.
The man clarified, ”Harry, your son,” to which the monarch replied, ”It would be nice,” before moving on.
This poignant moment revealed the longing for reconciliation within the royal family.
Unfortunately, Prince Harry’s recent attempts to mend the rift with his family have faced setbacks.
Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame,” unleashed more attacks on the royal institution, putting a halt to the reconciliation efforts.
Despite this, the desire for unity remains strong, and many hope that one day Prince Harry will be welcomed back into the fold.
