King Charles, the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, recently expressed his heartfelt wish for his first granddaughter, Princess Charlotte.
During a visit to his model town development, Poundberry, near Dorchester in Dorset, the then Prince of Wales couldn’t hide his joy and admitted to reporters, “I was hoping for a girl.”
The arrival of Princess Charlotte had clearly brought immense happiness to the royal family.
Charles, known for his affectionate nature, shared his very special wish for Charlotte during his tour.
He described her as beautiful and expressed his desire for a granddaughter who would look after him in his old age.
It is evident that being a grandfather brings Charles an immense amount of joy and fulfillment.
His wife, the Queen Consort, has also provided insight into Charles’ role as a grandfather, painting a picture of a doting and fun-loving figure.
Camilla revealed that Charles would happily get down on his knees and play with the grandchildren for hours, making funny noises and laughing.
She shared this during an appearance on the BBC documentary, “Prince, Son and Heir, Charles at 70.”
Together, Charles and Camilla have a total of 10 grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
In addition to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Archie, and Lilibet, Camilla has three grandchildren from her children’s marriages: Lola and Freddie Parker Bowles, the children of Tom Parker Bowles, and Eliza Lopez, as well as twins Gus and Louis Lopez, the children of Laura Lopez.
Camilla emphasized how much their grandchildren adore Charles, particularly highlighting his talent for reading Harry Potter and doing different voices, which the children greatly appreciate.
Prince William, who also appeared in the documentary, described his father as a brilliant grandfather.
However, he expressed a desire for Charles to have more time with his grandchildren.
William acknowledged that, as Charles reached his 70th year, it was crucial to prioritize family time and ensure his health and well-being.
Although Charles is already a fantastic grandfather, William wished for him to be able to spend more quality time with the children, playing and bonding with them.
William acknowledged that Charles is a fit and active individual, but he also expressed the importance of cherishing every moment together.
He hoped for Charles to remain healthy until the age of 95, emphasizing the significance of having him around as much as possible.
When Charles is present, he is truly brilliant with the grandchildren, but William desired more opportunities for them to enjoy each other’s company at home.
