In a surprising revelation, Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, has shed light on King Charles’ intentions to abdicate the throne in a decade.
According to Burrell, the monarch believes that he has fulfilled his duty and wishes to make way for his son, Prince William.
This decision marks a stark contrast to the approach taken by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.
Burrell shared that King Charles is deliberately buying time to ensure a smooth transition for Prince William.
Unlike Queen Elizabeth, who dedicated her life to her role as queen, Charles desires to see his son ascend the throne and relish in the responsibilities it entails.
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, the former royal butler explained, “Elizabeth would never have done that because she came from a different generation.
Her whole life revolved around being a queen.”
However, Charles intends to take inspiration from his father, Prince Philip, and declare, “I’ve done enough,” allowing himself the freedom to pursue his own interests.
The royal expert emphasized that Charles aims to witness William’s coronation before reaching the pinnacle of his own career.
He believes that King Charles possesses a unique perspective compared to his mother.
Burrell stated, “He will work diligently for the next ten years and then announce his retirement, enabling him to witness his son flourish.”
This revelation raises questions about the future of the British monarchy and the potential impact of King Charles’ decision.
