In a surprising turn of events, King Charles has decided to postpone any attempts to bring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex back into the royal fold, according to a royal reporter.
Despite earlier speculations that the King was considering extending an invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for his historic ceremony in May, it seems that he has changed his mind.
Royal reporter Robert Jobson revealed that the King is currently focused on establishing himself as the new sovereign and sees inviting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as a distraction.
This decision comes after the King sought support from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and engaged in communication with his younger son to diffuse tensions within the family.
While some royal experts, such as Daily Express correspondent Richard Palmer, believe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may still receive an invitation, the final decision lies with the government.
Palmer stated that it would be surprising if they were not invited, but ultimately, it is up to the government to decide who will be included and why.
Palmer further commented that the Prime Minister, Rishi Shunak, and his fellow ministers will need to address the issue of invitations soon.
He emphasized that the decision is imminent and that invitations will be sent out in the near future.
The government will have to make a firm decision sooner or later.
These statements from royal experts come after an accidental reply from King Charles when asked about bringing Harry back to the UK.
During a visit to the University of East London’s Stratford campus, a man shouted, “Bring back Harry, please.
Can you bring him back, please, sir?”
In response, the King, unaware of who the man was referring to, nervously replied, “Who?”
After the man clarified that he meant Prince Harry, Charles simply said, “It would be nice,” before moving on.
The debate over whether Prince Harry should attend the coronation has intensified following his public criticism of the royal family in his recently released memoir.
Invitations for the 90-minute service at Westminster Abbey are expected to be sent out this month, and sources suggest that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be invited.
However, it remains uncertain whether they will accept the invitation.
The King’s coronation, set to take place from May 6th, is anticipated to captivate global attention for three days of celebrations.
As the royal family seemingly closes its doors to Harry and Meghan, the question arises: Is this the end of their coronation dream?
Will it also affect their aspirations for a royal return?
