In the aftermath of King Charles’ successful prostate operation, discussions surrounding his abdication in favor of his heir, Prince William, have emerged.
Commentators are weighing in on whether the 75-year-old monarch should step down, and journalist Peter Lloyd expressed his support for this notion during an interview with GB News’ Mark Dolan.
Lloyd’s reasoning is not solely based on the desire to witness the reactions of Harry and Meghan, but also because he believes Prince William is fit for the job.
“Imagine how delicious that would be to see them foaming at the mouth over William becoming king,” he added.
However, fellow journalist Nina Misko strongly disagreed with Lloyd’s viewpoint, dismissing it as ridiculous.
Dolan intervened, suggesting that Harry and Meghan would feel wild and jealous if Prince William were to ascend to the throne, with Catherine becoming the queen.
Considering the traditions of the British monarchy and the wording of life service for the monarch in parliament, it is highly unlikely that King Charles will abdicate, similar to Queen Margareth of Denmark.
Instead, he will fulfill his role until his passing, just as Queen Elizabeth II did, and only then will Prince William assume the position of monarch, with Catherine as his queen consort.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has yet to publicly express concern for his sister-in-law Princess Catherine’s health.
However, he has not shied away from criticizing his marriage to Prince William, a choice that royal expert Robert Hardman deems problematic.
In his new book, “The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy,” Hardman criticizes the Sussexes’ disrespectful comments about the Waleses in their Netflix docuseries and in Harry’s memoir, “Spare.”
Neither Harry nor Meghan has shown any remorse for the troubles they caused within the family.
Nevertheless, they found time to make a red carpet appearance in Jamaica last week, attracting attention during a challenging period for the royal family.
According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Harry and Meghan find themselves in limbo, as Hollywood reporters have stigmatized them as losers.
Their appearance in Jamaica was unexpected but seemed calculated to garner attention amidst the royal family’s difficulties.
Fitzwilliams clarifies that this was not an attempt to revive their careers since they currently have no professional pursuits in Hollywood.
Hardman also commented on Harry’s actions, stating that casting doubt on his brother’s choice of wife is a clear invitation for trouble.
In the 2022 docuseries, Harry made a pointed remark suggesting that the men in his family have a tendency to marry someone they are destined to be with, potentially implying that Kate may not be the love of William’s life.
This statement starkly contrasts with Harry’s previous sentiments about Princess Catherine when she and William announced their engagement.
At that time, Harry expressed his delight, saying, “It means I get a sister which I’ve always wanted.”
According to Hardman, the situation is unlikely to improve for Harry, as Prince William is waiting for an apology that does not seem forthcoming.
Reports suggest that Harry has not spoken to William since the Queen’s funeral in December.
Although he attended his father’s coronation as King Charles III in May, Harry remained distant, sitting three rows back at Westminster.
