The ongoing drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seems to have had no discernible impact on King Charles III, according to royal author Robert Hardman.
In his new book, “Charles III, New King.
New Court.
The inside story,” Hardman sheds light on King Charles’s true feelings during the tumultuous period.
Shortly after ascending the throne in September 2022, King Charles found himself dealing with the fallout from Harry and Meghan’s explosive Netflix docuseries.
Just weeks later, Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” was released, potentially adding to the challenges faced by the new monarch.
However, it appears that King Charles handled the situation as best he could, even confiding in an old friend about his true emotions.
According to Hardman’s book, friends and family noticed that despite the burdens and criticism, King Charles seemed happier than ever.
During those difficult months, he expressed his readiness for the role of king to his old friend, saying, “I’m ready for it.”
This demonstrates the king’s determination to navigate the challenges that lay ahead.
In addition to shedding light on King Charles’s perspective, the book also reveals insights into the late queen’s reaction to Harry and Meghan’s claims regarding their daughter’s name.
Hardman’s book includes an account from a staff member who witnessed the queen’s anger upon hearing that Harry and Meghan had allegedly received her blessing to name their daughter Lilibet.
Contrary to the couple’s assertion, a source reported to the BBC that the late queen was never consulted by Harry and Meghan regarding the use of the name Lilibet.
This nickname, derived from the queen’s childhood, was also affectionately used by her late husband, Prince Philip, who sadly passed away just two months before Princess Lilibet’s birth in 2021.
The revelations in Hardman’s book provide a glimpse into the personal challenges faced by King Charles during the early stages of his reign.
