Lady Louise Windsor, the Queen’s youngest granddaughter, is lending a helping hand to Prince William and Kate Middleton as they navigate the summer break with their three children.
At 17 years old, Louise, who is the daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, has been spending her summers at Balmoral, the Queen’s Scottish summer retreat, since she was young.
It seems that this year, she is also taking on the responsibility of entertaining and caring for William and Kate’s kids.
According to a source cited by French magazine Gala, Louise has endeared herself to everyone by looking after the children while they are at Balmoral.
Despite the 11-year age gap between them, Louise shares a close bond with Princess Charlotte, who is six years old.
The source revealed that Louise, who loves drawing and sketching, has been patiently teaching Charlotte how to draw pictures of rabbits and deer.
In fact, her artistic talent has even granted her access to Queen Victoria’s collection of Highlands sketches, which are rarely displayed nowadays.
Louise, who will be turning 18 in November, recently received her AS level results and is expected to complete her A level qualification next year.
Afterward, she will have the opportunity to choose between pursuing a role as a working royal or focusing on her higher education.
This decision will shape her future path within the royal family.
The Queen’s annual stay at Balmoral holds particular significance this year as it marks her first visit to her private estate since the passing of her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.
In April, a poignant picture was released showing the Queen and Prince Philip surrounded by their great-grandchildren at their Scottish home.
Balmoral has long been a sanctuary for the royal family, providing them with a tranquil setting in the Highlands where they can relax and engage in country pursuits.
