A leaked video has shed light on the less glamorous side of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent appearance at the premiere of a Bob Marley biopic in Kingston.
The couple, who made headlines last year when they stepped down from their royal duties and relocated to the US, have faced constant scrutiny and criticism for their actions and statements, which many perceive as disrespectful to the monarchy and the country.
Since their departure from the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been embroiled in numerous scandals and disputes.
From their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey to their multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, and their legal battles with the British media, the couple has been accused of greed and ingratitude towards the royal family and the monarchy.
Their involvement in political and social issues has further strained their relationship with the people and authorities of Jamaica, a former British colony and member of the Commonwealth, which has been contemplating cutting ties with the Crown and becoming a republic.
In an attempt to mend relations, the couple made an unexpected trip to Jamaica last month to attend the premiere of “Bob Marley, One Love,” a film celebrating the life and legacy of the renowned reggae singer and symbol of Jamaican culture.
During their visit, they were photographed alongside Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, who has been advocating for his country’s transition to a republic.
The couple also posed with Marlene Malihou-Forte, Jamaica’s Minister of Legal and Constitutional Affairs, who had previously suggested holding a referendum to remove Charles as Jamaica’s monarch.
While their appearance at the premiere was seen by many as a public relations move to garner sympathy and support, it ended up backfiring.
Secret footage obtained by the Daily Mail reveals a tense and troubled stay for the couple at the Half Moon Hotel, where they lodged for three nights surrounding the premiere.
The footage, captured by a hidden camera in the hotel lobby, documents their arrival, interactions with staff and guests, and departure.
Upon arrival, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, accompanied by an entourage of security guards, assistants, and media personnel, ignored the hotel staff’s greetings and offers for assistance and proceeded directly to their luxurious suite, the most expensive in the hotel.
Throughout their stay, they made numerous demands and complaints, including requests for a different suite, a vegan menu with 24/7 room service, and grievances about noise and temperature.
They also declined to engage with other guests or partake in any of the hotel’s activities or amenities.
An argument between the couple erupted in their suite, overheard by both staff and neighboring guests.
Meghan accused Harry of being overly friendly and submissive to the prime minister and the minister, neglecting their rights and values.
In turn, Harry accused Meghan of displaying hostility and aggression towards the prime minister and the minister, while disrespecting their culture and traditions.
The couple abruptly departed the hotel without bidding farewell or expressing gratitude to the staff or guests.
Their suite was left in disarray, with dirty dishes, stained sheets, broken furniture, and unpaid bills.
Additionally, they neglected to leave a tip or make a donation to the hotel or any local charities or causes.
The leaked footage has sparked significant controversy and debate among the public and media, eliciting varying opinions on the couple’s behavior and attitude.
Some have condemned them as rude and unreasonable, lacking respect or appreciation for Jamaica and its people.
Conversely, others have come to their defense, citing the pressures and stresses they face and asserting their right to privacy and comfort.
This latest incident is likely to further strain the already fragile relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Jamaican authorities, who have already denounced and rejected their visit and interference.
As tensions continue to escalate, the future of their connection with Jamaica remains uncertain.
