In a recent development, it has been reported that Megan Markle has reached out to renowned filmmaker Ryan Murphy, pleading for a lawyer role in Kim Kardashian’s highly anticipated upcoming movie.
This appeal comes after Megan’s unexpected removal from the new season of the hit TV show Suits, despite her breakthrough performance in American Horror Story.
Kim Kardashian, known for her delicate approach to her projects, is set to star in her own scripted series, thanks to her continued collaboration with Ryan Murphy, the creator and executive producer of the project.
The series is described as a high-end, glossy, and s**y adult procedural drama, and it has found a home at Hulu, the platform famous for its hit reality series, The Kardashians, with a significant series commitment.
Notably, this project marks the first series for Ryan Murphy under his new deal with Disney’s 20th Television, which is part of Disney TV Studios.
According to a source with inside knowledge, Megan Markle’s representatives have intervened to secure her a role in Kim Kardashian’s movie.
Given Megan’s previous experience playing a lawyer on Suits, she expressed her desire to return to the screen in a similar role.
Kim Kardashian has responded to Megan’s plea by considering her for a role in the movie.
Currently, Kardashian’s acting deal is under negotiation, and she is poised to portray Los Angeles’s most successful divorce lawyer, who also happens to own an all-female law firm.
The legal drama is penned by John Robin Bates, the creator of Brothers and Sisters, and the writer of the highly anticipated upcoming installment of Murphy’s Food, Capote vs. the Swans, along with Joe Bacon.
Murphy, Kardashian, and Kris Jenner, the manager of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings and an executive producer on their unscripted series, have all quickly committed to the project.
Subsequently, they successfully pitched the idea to Hulu, which secured the project with what some sources suggest is a straight-to-series order.
While deals are still being finalized, the project has already initiated preliminary casting discussions and is exploring ideas for three other actresses to play glamorous and accomplished love partners of Kim Kardashian’s character.
Additionally, the production team is on the lookout for an A-list actor to portray her on-screen love interest.
Production is expected to commence in late 2024, with an early 2025 premiere targeted.
However, sources have revealed that Megan was initially planning to cast herself in one of the three lawyer roles in Kim Kardashian’s movie.
Unfortunately for Megan, the Kardashians have decided to cast only A-list actors for this project, which essentially places Megan in the Z-list category.
Despite facing this setback, Megan seems determined to make this happen and needs to present compelling ideas to Netflix if she wants to secure a role, as she faces the risk of being publicly rejected.
Critics argue that Megan’s acting skills were far from impressive during her time on Suits.
Her character, Rachel, often required Jessica, played by Jenna Torres, to swoop in and save the day in courtroom scenes.
While the role of a lawyer wouldn’t be a significant stretch for Kim Kardashian, who is on a real-life path to become one, having passed the baby bar and currently studying for the bar exam, Megan’s track record in the industry raises doubts.
