Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly searching for a private school in California for their children, Archie and Lilibet.
The news was revealed by Richard Minyards, a former Fleet Street reporter turned gossip columnist, in the latest edition of the Montecito Journal, the Sussexes’ local newspaper.
According to Minyards, the couple was seen inspecting a local private school campus last week, bringing them closer to making a decision.
The Montecito area offers a range of school fees, from $6,000 to over $50,000 for older grades.
These institutions boast a high percentage of students who go on to attend four-year colleges.
Archie, who will turn four on May 6th, is already attending a preschool kindergarten in the Celebrity Enclave where other famous residents like Oprah Winfrey, James Corden, and Katy Perry reside.
Minyards, who has been living in wealthy Montecito for 13 years, explained the school choices available to the royal couple during an interview with Hello!
magazine’s royal podcast.
He mentioned that there are excellent state-funded schools in the area, such as Cold Spring School and Montecito Union School, which often cater to children from affluent backgrounds.
However, considering Prince Harry’s own educational background at Ludgrove and Eton College, they might opt for a private school like Laguna Blanca or Cate School.
While Meghan and Harry have the financial means to choose any educational path for their children, some speculate that Meghan may prefer a more traditional approach, following her own experience of attending state schools.
However, a recent report from a website called Celebrity has cast doubt on the alleged preschool attended by Archie and Lilibet, claiming they have no records of their enrollment.
Critics have raised questions about Meghan’s claims, suggesting that if she had children, she would be frequently seen with them in public, taking pictures and smiling for the cameras.
Conflicting statements, such as previous claims that Lilibet was attending school in Los Angeles or a daycare connected to Tyler, have further fueled skepticism.
The absence of photographic evidence of Archie attending preschool has also raised suspicions among critics.
One would expect regular sightings of vehicles transporting Archie to and from school, but no such glimpses have been reported.
Additionally, no other parents have come forward claiming that their children are friends with Archie.
These doubts about the existence of Archie and Lilibet have persisted, even leading child protection services in Santa Barbara to investigate Archie’s welfare before Lilibet’s birth.
Critics point out that available pictures of the children appear unusual, with odd angles, differing facial appearances, and inconsistent sizes that do not align with normal growth patterns.
Despite the persistent rumors and skepticism surrounding Archie and Lilibet, Meghan and Harry continue to explore their options for their children’s education.
The couple remains focused on providing the best opportunities and experiences for their young ones, regardless of the ongoing speculation.
