In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that King Charles will only welcome Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back into the royal fold if they meet a specific condition.
A royal insider disclosed that dealing with the difficult and self-centered Meghan Markle is proving to be a challenge for the King.
However, according to a leading royal expert close to the palace, Richard Eden, if the royals were able to rehabilitate Sarah Ferguson, then there is certainly a chance for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
As we know, Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals and have been making critical remarks about the royal family from their residence across the pond.
Nonetheless, Mr. Eden points out that King Charles has a history of forgiving the wrongdoings of other family members.
To illustrate this, he mentions Sarah Ferguson, who had not been seen with the other working royals during the Christmas Day Sandringham walkabout for three decades.
However, just recently, she appeared alongside the rest of the family, potentially indicating a possible path back for Harry and Meghan, albeit with the passage of time.
Mr. Eden further emphasizes that the King’s acceptance of the Duke and Duchess of York demonstrates the possibility of reconciliation for the Sussexes.
Unlike Harry and Meghan, Andrew and Sarah have never attacked the royal family.
On the contrary, they have always expressed admiration for their relations.
The King’s invitation for Sarah, Duchess of York, to join Prince Andrew and senior members of the royal family at church in Sandringham is a testament to his capacity for forgiveness.
This gesture is particularly appreciated by the Duke of York, who is apprehensive about the forthcoming publication of court documents that may link him to the late Epstein and reignite the scandal.
Although Mr. Eden remains relatively optimistic about the situation, he warns that any improvement in relations would require Harry and Meghan to acknowledge their ill-advised behavior and issue an apology.
He highlights the importance of repentance before forgiveness, stating that there has been no indication from the couple based in California that they are willing to apologize to those they have betrayed with their insults and indiscretions.
It is clear that Meghan Markle will never admit her lies, as it goes against her nature to accept responsibility and she often resorts to blaming others.
The conditions set by King Charles pose a significant obstacle to Meghan and Harry’s return.
The situation with the Yorks and the Sussexes is vastly different.
While the Yorks brought shame upon themselves, the Sussexes continuously tarnish the royal family’s reputation by hurling accusations.
Even if the rest of the family were to be forgiven, caution would still be exercised, even among the staff at Buckingham Palace.
Reintegrating into the monarchy is not aligned with the desires of the majority of UK citizens, and ultimately, their satisfaction is paramount.
The question arises: how long should Harry and Meghan remain in exile, seeking freedom?
After all the pain and anguish caused, it is somewhat ironic to witness their desperation to return to a position lesser than what they initially held.
The anticipated “year of reconciliation” in 2023 has proven to be a failure, and it remains to be seen if the “year of redemption” will yield any positive results.
Perhaps, for 2025, they could attempt a “year of repentance,” which might be more effective.
It is evident that Harry yearns to be a senior royal, but it is questionable whether the royal family truly needs him.
