Renowned journalist and former London Assembly Chairman, Sir Trevor Phillips, has launched a scathing accusation against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
According to Sir Trevor, the royal couple missed a golden opportunity to showcase Britain’s advancements in addressing racism.
Speaking on the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush generation in the UK, Sir Trevor highlighted the significant societal changes that have taken place since then.
Sir Trevor expressed his disappointment with Meghan and Harry’s approach, stating that they could have been a beacon of discovery and reconciliation not only for Britain but for the entire world.
He firmly believed that the couple had the perfect platform to demonstrate the progress made in race relations in the UK.
However, he criticized them for constructing a narrative of victimhood and mistreatment instead of highlighting the inclusive and accepting nature of the country.
The accusations made by Meghan and Harry against the British royals, which ultimately led to their departure from Britain and relocation to California, were vehemently disputed by Sir Trevor.
He claimed that their allegations of mistreatment were unfounded and that nobody believed that Meghan faced discrimination based on her race.
Sir Trevor emphasized that the couple had the potential to make a positive impact on millions of lives by showcasing the progress and inclusivity of the UK, but they chose not to do so.
In Sir Trevor’s eyes, Meghan and Harry’s actions were deemed as a sin, reflecting the magnitude of his disappointment.
He believed that the couple had the power to be catalysts for change, ambassadors for progress, and champions of inclusivity.
Instead, they opted to perpetuate a narrative that he found to be baseless and unpleasant.
Sir Trevor criticized their decision to focus on victimhood rather than embracing the opportunity to promote unity and progress in society.
