Meghan Markle and Prince Harry found themselves in an awkward moment during a premiere film screening in Jamaica.
The royal couple attended the showing of Bob Marley W. Love at the Carib Five Theatre in St. Andrew.
However, a recently emerged video has left fans convinced that the Duke and Duchess were unimpressed with their seat allocation at the event.
In the video clip, security staff can be seen escorting Meghan and Harry to their seats while other guests were already settled.
Typically, VIP guests are seated in the front rows, but the royal pair found themselves positioned much farther back in the crowd.
This unexpected seating arrangement seemed to puzzle the couple, as they paused and surveyed the situation.
Harry even scratched his beard in contemplation, while Meghan engaged in a conversation with one of her staff members.
As Harry made his way to his seat, he appeared slightly downcast, while Meghan leaned in to talk to him.
However, Harry soon got up from his chair and walked back up the aisle, leaving Meghan behind.
In another photo taken inside the premiere, Meghan can be seen gesturing to someone, while Harry looks down without a smile.
According to a spokesperson for the Sussexes, Meghan and Harry were invited to the event as guests of Paramount Pictures, the film’s distributor.
They had a private chat with executives and stayed at the same hotel.
Their presence on the red carpet alongside Jamaican politicians, who were considering asking the king to be the island’s head of state, garnered significant attention and media coverage, which would undoubtedly please Paramount.
However, the CEO of Paramount denied inviting Meghan and Harry, stating that they were not given special treatment or private chats.
These claims were dismissed as lies by an insider, who suggested that the couple had purchased movie tickets and pretended it was a premiere.
Additionally, rumors about Paramount’s financial struggles and potential sale of parts of the company cast doubt on their ability to meet Meghan’s demands for a private jet.
The photographs captured at the event did not depict Harry and Meghan being treated as VIPs, further fueling speculation that this was a deliberate PR move to secure their Netflix deal.
The couple has faced criticism for their use of private jets, which contradicts Harry’s stance on sustainable travel.
The premiere, organized by Paramount Pictures, coincided with the Sussexes’ contract with Netflix, leading to speculation about the state of their partnership with the streaming platform.
In light of these circumstances, Harry and Meghan are reportedly seeking to entice Paramount Pictures, suggesting that their Netflix deal may be in jeopardy.
The couple’s presence at the premiere film screening in Jamaica, despite the controversy surrounding their seating and mode of transportation, has generated significant attention and raised questions about their future collaborations within the entertainment industry.
