In a surprising turn of events, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be allowed to retain the titles bestowed upon them by Queen Elizabeth II.
As many are aware, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the decision to step down as working members of the royal family in 2020.
However, according to Grant Harrold, a former royal butler and commentator, it is highly likely that they will be permitted to keep their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles due to the fact that they were granted by the late Queen.
Harrold acknowledged that there are those who believe King Charles should strip Harry of his royal title, as stripping titles for treason has been a historical practice among kings and queens.
However, he believes that Charles is caught in a difficult position, as there is currently no justifiable reason to strip Harry of his Duke of Sussex title.
Furthermore, taking away a gift from Harry that was given to him by his mother would not reflect well on Charles.
Harrold expressed his opinion during an interview with Slingo, stating that he firmly believes the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex will remain with Harry and Meghan.
In recent news, Prince Harry attended King Charles’ coronation alone on Saturday, while Meghan Markle chose to remain in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Duke of Sussex rushed back from the ceremony in order to celebrate Prince Archie’s fourth birthday with Meghan in the U.S.
Immediately following the historic event, he flew back to Los Angeles, making a quick stop at Heathrow Airport to catch his flight home.
Now, it’s time to hear your thoughts on this matter.
