In a surprising turn of events, royal officials have expressed their disappointment over the leakage of a phone call between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles.
The call, made by Prince Harry to celebrate King Charles’ 75th birthday, seemed to have brought about a potential reunion between father and son.
However, sources reveal that the royal insiders are far from pleased that their private conversation has been made public.
The leaked phone call was reported by Britain’s Daily Telegraph and it was revealed that Meghan Markle was also present during the call.
Adding a heartfelt touch to the celebration, the Sussexes’ children, Archie (4) and Lilybeth (2), sent their grandfather a video message accompanied by the song “Happy Birthday.”
This gesture was seen as a significant change in the dynamics between the King, his second son, and his daughter-in-law.
Interestingly, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have often fought for their privacy, it seems that their wishes were not respected this time around.
“Harry and Meghan fight for privacy when it’s convenient, but as soon as Harry calls the King, it was in the papers,” a source told Page Six.
However, sources close to the Sussexes vehemently deny any involvement in the leak of the phone call.
This incident marks the first public separation within the royal family since the release of Harry Spacey’s memoirs six months ago.
In the book, Harry criticized his stepmother, Queen Camilla.
Despite this, it has been revealed that Prince Harry plans to have a conversation with his father next week, indicating his desire to maintain a good relationship with King Charles.
“He’s his father,” a source explained to Page Six.
Prince Harry’s last appearance with the royal family was at the coronation in May, and his last photographed moment was at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral nearly a year ago.
However, the release of Omid Scobie’s new book, “The Endgame,” on November 28th, may stir up further tensions.
An extract from the book, published in People magazine, claims that Prince Harry was kept unaware of Queen Elizabeth’s deteriorating health before her passing in September 2022.
According to Scobie, who previously authored “Finding Freedom,” the Sussexes were not informed about the preparations being made within the royal family for the Queen’s eventual demise.
It is alleged that Prince Harry had to arrange a private flight to Scotland in order to bid farewell to his grandmother, while the rest of the family, including his older brother Prince William, had access to private jets.
