A royal commentator has cautioned Meghan Markle and Prince Harry against issuing a performative statement concerning the health conditions of Princess Kate and King Charles.
Both the Princess of Wales and King Charles have recently undergone hospital treatment for separate health concerns.
However, an expert believes that a public statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would not be wise.
Royal author Victoria Arbiter expressed her opinion on GB News, stating, “I don’t see any reason why Harry and Meghan should feel obligated to make a public statement.
It would only be performative, and history has shown that when they do speak out, they are criticized for making it all about themselves.
On the other hand, when they choose not to speak, they are accused of being uncaring.
Hopefully, they have found it appropriate to privately reach out to the King and the Princess of Wales.”
On January 17, both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace released statements regarding the health of Kate and King Charles, respectively.
According to Kensington Palace’s announcement, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales was admitted to the hospital on January 16 for planned abdominal surgery.
She is expected to remain hospitalized for 10-14 days and is unlikely to resume her royal duties until after Easter.
Meanwhile, the King is undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate, a diagnosis he made public in order to encourage other men to prioritize their health.
Prince Harry faced criticism for not mentioning his father or sister-in-law during his acceptance speech at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards.
Earlier this week, Prince Harry and Meghan attended the film premiere of “Bob Marley, One Love” in Jamaica.
Despite their public appearances, neither the Duke nor the Duchess commented on the health conditions of Princess Kate or King Charles.
Insiders have revealed that Harry and Meghan privately reached out to the King and Kate, offering their support.
