The luxurious £11 million home of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in Montecito is rumored to be hitting the market soon.
Reports suggest that their neighbors have grown tired of the couple’s presence in the area.
It appears that the Sussexes are eyeing a more modestly priced £3 million property in Malibu, after abandoning their plans to build a massive 10,000 square foot house on a piece of land they considered purchasing last September.
Despite their extravagant 9-bedroom Californian residence being prominently featured on Netflix’s tell-all series about the couple, locals claim to rarely see the family of four there, including their children Archie and Lilibet.
Barry Mayer, a PR expert and resident of the area, expressed growing frustration among the community due to Meghan and Harry’s jet-setting lifestyle.
He told the Mirror that the couple lives down the street, but in a considerably pricier spot.
However, he emphasized that nobody in the neighborhood is exactly living in cardboard boxes.
According to Mayer, local tolerance towards the Sussexes seems to align with the general sentiment across the United States.
Those who admire them appear to have an unlimited tolerance, regardless of their actions, possibly due to the allure of the handsome prince falling for a commoner fairytale.
On the other hand, everyone else either remains unimpressed by their extravagant lifestyle or simply grows weary of hearing about them.
Last October, rumors circulated that Prince Harry was attempting to disrupt their planned move to Malibu because he had developed a preference for living in New York City instead.
The couple has been frequently spotted in the Big Apple, and it seems that Harry has taken a liking to the fast pace, culture, and social scene there.
A friend of Harry’s revealed that he thoroughly enjoys the city and feels at home there.
Additionally, returning to London from New York would be much more convenient, with a flight time of only 8 hours compared to nearly 11 hours from Malibu.
It is peculiar that Harry now desires to abandon the California lifestyle and suggests purchasing a property in New York.
It almost seems as if he is intentionally sabotaging their plans, as it makes little logical sense.
This information was disclosed by a close friend of Harry’s to Heat magazine.
On the other hand, Meghan wishes to remain close to Los Angeles, where her career opportunities lie.
She frequently travels to LA for work meetings multiple times a week, and it appears that her schedule will become even busier as their projects take off.
A source revealed that Meghan values face-to-face interactions and aims to establish meaningful relationships, which would be easier to accomplish if they were located near Hollywood.
However, she is also understanding of Harry’s desire to reconnect with his family and friends.
The couple has reportedly reached a compromise on this matter.
The insider mentioned to the magazine back in October that once they have achieved success in Hollywood, they may consider purchasing a place in New York.
Previously, the Express reported that Meghan had upset the locals with her high-handed attitude, with one of their neighbors in Montecito claiming that Meghan acts superior and they cannot wait for her to leave.
The Sussexes are not held in high regard by the community, particularly due to Meghan’s behavior.
One neighbor even accused her of manipulating Prince Harry.
A recent survey found that 33% of respondents disapproved of Meghan, while 31% approved, resulting in an overall net approval rating of minus two.
This marks an eight-point decrease since the outlet’s previous poll conducted in June.
As for Harry, a Newsweek survey showed that 39% of respondents liked him, while 27% disliked him, giving him a net approval rating of 12.
This also represents a decline from the previous poll, where he had a positive rating of 18.
