Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are facing a fresh nightmare as their popularity in the United States takes a nosedive.
According to Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, a leading Washington think tank, Americans want the Duke of Sussex to return to Britain.
Roberts is assisting the think tank’s legal action to investigate Harry’s US visa application, prompted by his admissions of drug use in his memoir “Spare.”
In an interview with the Telegraph, Roberts expressed the sentiment shared by many Americans, saying, “We don’t like him being in America, and we’d love for him to come back to you.
I guess we as Americans, we see Prince Harry the same way that you see President Biden – you can have him back.”
These comments from Roberts come on the heels of the Sussexes’ recent claims of a near-catastrophic car chase involving paparazzi photographers in New York City.
However, as more details emerged, the story became more complex.
Julian Phillips, the New York Police Department’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, stated that numerous photographers made transportation challenging for the couple.
Furthermore, Sukhchan Singh, a cab driver who transported them for a short leg of their journey, dismissed the notion of a chase, telling the Washington Post, “I don’t think I’d call it a chase.”
Even New York City Mayor Eric Adams found it difficult to believe that there was a two-hour high-speed chase in the city, although he acknowledged the potential dire consequences even in a ten-minute chase.
Tom Budda, the head of the security firm responsible for the couple’s transportation, described the chase as frightening for Harry, Meghan, and Meghan’s mother, Vadoria Ragland.
In light of these controversies, a royal expert has urged the couple to return to the UK.
Kinsey Schofield, an LA-based royal expert, revealed that the prevailing sentiment in the States is that Harry and Meghan need to apologize and move back to the UK.
“That’s what we’re saying here in America, that they need to move back to the UK,” she emphasized.
Schofield also noted that the couple’s oversharing has not helped their case, citing Harry’s adventures with Elizabeth Arden cream and his frostbitten p-nis.
Gossip blogger Perez Hilton echoes this sentiment, stating that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should abandon their California mansion and return to the UK where they truly belong.
Hilton believes it is inevitable and not meant as an insult when he says, “They’re both boring.
The only thing that makes them interesting is the family in the UK and all of the drama.”
In America, they are seen as celebrities who must adhere to the rules of celebrity culture to maintain their status.
As Meghan and Harry face mounting criticism and dwindling popularity in the US, the calls for their return to the UK grow louder.
The couple’s future remains uncertain as they navigate these challenges and decide on their next steps.
