Famous celebrities and influential figures gathered at the main Mayfair on Thursday night to attend British Vogue’s highly anticipated 2023 Forces for Change party.
Hosted by Edward Enninful and Vanessa King-Gorey, the event celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to culture and positive change.
Among the honored guests were activist Munro Bergdorf, actor Gemma Chan, musician Little Sims, and England footballer Mary Earps.
Forces for Change was originally launched in the September 2019 issue of British Vogue, which was guest edited by Meghan Markle.
The initiative aimed to shine a spotlight on individuals driving positive change in various fields, including fashion, politics, activism, and sustainability.
However, it also provided an opportunity for attendees to showcase their fashion choices and enjoy the company of industry peers while sipping on Johnny Walker Blue Label, Laurent Perrier, and 71 Gin.
As the guests, including Chioma Nardi, Alexa Chung, Jordan Dunne, and Leomi Anderson, walked the blooming housecrafted red carpet to the soothing sounds of four strings, they flaunted their vintage eBay finds.
The evening’s star-studded guest list also included Leela Moss, Maya Jama, Sarah Burton, Baz Luhrmann, Sheila Atim, Rita Ora, and Romali Ali.
Forces for Change has evolved into a powerful movement, recognizing individuals in the public eye who are actively fighting for change in the realms of fashion, culture, politics, and beyond.
The campaign initially gained momentum when Meghan Markle took the reins as guest editor for the September 2019 issue.
However, this year, Meghan found herself excluded from the guest list at British Vogue’s 2023 Forces for Change party, courtesy of Edward Enninful.
Once friends, it appears that Enninful has severed ties with Meghan, who previously had a role at Vogue magazine during her time as a member of the British royal family.
Now, their paths no longer cross, as Enninful strengthens his relationship with the royal family.
This exclusion seemingly reinforces the notion that Meghan’s influence is diminished without her royal status.
Interestingly, Leah Williamson, known for her dislike of Meghan, received an invitation to the Vogue party.
The lioness captivated onlookers with her stunning ruched tall mini dress, showcasing her well-toned figure.
Her blonde locks were styled in a bouncy blown-out fashion, and she accentuated her features with a radiant coat of makeup.
Leah’s outfit emphasized her long, muscular legs, which she paired with pointed flats.
Adding a touch of glamour, she adorned herself with large studded diamond earrings, a matching bracelet, and rings.
Leah Williamson has been openly supportive of the British royal family and has previously shared tweets implicitly critical of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, particularly when they released a Netflix production that seemed to insult the monarchy.
Last month, Leah was honored with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Prince William at Windsor Castle following England’s Euro 2022 final victory.
Alongside her teammates Lucy Bronze, Beth Mead, and Ellen White, she was named in the King’s New Year’s Honours list at the end of 2022.
While Lucy, Beth, and Ellen received MBEs, Williamson was presented with her OBE by Prince William on October 4th.
She expressed gratitude for the recognition, acknowledging the significance of the award and the time she had invested.
