Meghan Markle has decided to pause the release of her controversial Spotify podcast, Archetypes, as a mark of respect during the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth.
The upcoming episode, originally scheduled to stream on Tuesday, has been postponed.
However, the subsequent broadcast is set for September 20th, the day after the state funeral for the Queen at Westminster Abbey in central London.
This move sets the stage for a potential clash between King Charles III and his self-exiled son and daughter-in-law.
The decision to postpone the podcast has sparked speculation about whether it will become the first interview conducted by a member of the royal family following the Queen’s passing.
Sources suggest that King Charles III has been informed about Meghan’s podcast and is concerned about its content.
“It’s the last thing the King needs to be thinking about at this time, but make no mistake, it’s a very serious problem,” a source revealed.
The King is adamant that the Duchess of Sussex should refrain from discussing any family matters or events related to this somber occasion.
According to another source, King Charles III plans to ask his aides to persuade Prince Harry to convince Meghan to permanently end the podcast.
However, there are concerns that Meghan may not fully comprehend the gravity of the situation.
The insider stated, “He knows Meghan is steadfast in her view and believes she, and not the family, is in control of what she says publicly.”
The King hopes that Meghan will exercise common sense, politeness, and restraint by refraining from discussing anything about the Windsor family and his mother’s death.
Despite these hopes, those close to the podcast warn that if Meghan proceeds with her show, it will be difficult for her to avoid addressing the recent events.
A message posted on the podcast’s Spotify page announced that new episodes of Archetypes would be paused during the official mourning period for Queen Elizabeth II.
So far, Meghan has released three episodes of her podcast, featuring guests such as Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Mindy Carling.
Future guests scheduled to appear on Archetypes include Margaret Cho, Lisa Ling, Constance Wu, and Ziwei.
In a separate development, King Charles III recently delivered his first public address since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
During his speech, he expressed his love for his children, Prince Harry and Prince William, while discussing their new titles.
Lady Colin Campbell, a prominent commentator, believes that this speech has further strained the relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the royal family.
She praised the King’s speech, stating, “I thought it was an excellent speech.
He addressed all concerns, both from his detractors and supporters, and made it absolutely clear that he intends to be neutral and unobjectionable.”
Lady Colin also noted that the King’s speech effectively signaled that Prince Harry and Meghan have no role to play within the royal family.
She expressed doubt about the possibility of their return, stating, “I don’t think there’s much of a way back for them even if they did want to have a part to play.”
She acknowledged the difficult situation faced by the family and the father’s dilemma of having to cut off his son completely.
Overall, Lady Colin was impressed with the tone and content of the King’s speech, highlighting his decorum and firmness in handling the situation.
