In a rare and candid moment, Meghan Markle shared insights into her son Prince Archie’s love for photography.
The Duchess of Sussex disclosed this during a post-screening film Q&A, where she appeared on stage with filmmaker Misson Harriman and actor David Oyelowo after the screening of their short film, The After.
During the event, Meghan opened up about Archie’s fascination with photography, which was sparked by Harriman’s influence.
She expressed, “Our four-and-a-half-year-old son, he would say I’m not four, I’m four-and-a-half, Misson was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us.”
This revelation showcased the depth of inspiration that Archie drew from Harriman’s guidance.
To further encourage Archie’s newfound interest, Meghan even purchased a camera for him.
However, the four-year-old had a hilarious reaction when he discovered that the camera he received was not as expensive as the one he had learned with.
Meghan amusingly shared, “He said, ‘But it’s not a Leica like Misson’s.’
I was like, ‘You are not getting a Leica, not even for Christmas.’
So thank you for the inspiration across the board.”
Leica, a renowned German camera brand, is known for its high-end models that can cost up to £8,000.
Archie’s desire for such an extravagant camera reflects his expensive taste in photography equipment.
This glimpse into Archie’s new hobby offers a rare insight into the lives of the Sussex children.
Meghan and Harry have been adamant about protecting their children’s privacy and keeping them out of the public spotlight.
Even their Christmas card this year did not feature a picture of their children, unlike the previous year when they introduced Lilibet to the world.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Christmas card, released on Friday, showcased a picture of just the two of them.
The card, accompanied by a message from the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Archule Productions, and Archule Foundation, expressed warm wishes for the holiday season and gratitude for the support received in 2023.
Additionally, the card featured a highlights reel of Harry and Meghan’s memorable moments from the past year.
In contrast, Prince William and Kate Middleton opted for a family-oriented Christmas card, including a monochrome photo of their family.
Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla chose a photo from the coronation for their card.
Meghan’s revelation about Archie’s passion for photography not only provides a glimpse into their personal lives but also showcases the diverse interests and talents of the young royal.
